保護層を塗布する際に、光透過性基板の外周端部におい
て、表面張力に起因して生じる保護層の盛り上がりがな
いため、透明接着剤により貼り合わせても、基板同士の
接着部にシワや空気泡が生じることがなくなる。このた
め、Tangential Tilt や Radial Acceleration の劣化
(記録・再生マージンの低下)、あるいは、反射膜等を
含む記録膜の劣化(特に高温・高湿条件下における信頼
性の低下)を引き起こすことがない。また、この光学式
情報記録媒体では、上記保護層の盛り上がりがないた
め、従来品と違って基板端面からの保護層のはみ出しが
ないので、外観にも優れたものとなる。

形成したことを特徴とする光学式情報記録媒体。
