Un primo problema deriva dalla eterogeneità del patrimonio sfragistico conservato negli archivi. La conseguenza di una conservazione di questo tipo fu lo schiacciamento dei sigilli all'interno del contenitore con conseguente loro frantumazione. Partendo dalla constatazione dell'esistenza di questi problemi la presente invenzione si prefigge 11 raggiungimento di una serie di obiettivi. In primo luogo, costituisce uno scopo dell'invenzione la realizzazione di un contenitore per il condizionamento e la conservazione di materiale sfragistico che consenta di evitare che il sigillo sia staccato dal documento a cui esso appartiene e che permetta di conservare documento e sigillo in una posizione verticale negli scaffali dell'archivio, nonché all'interno della loro originaria collocazione archivistica. Un ulteriore scopo dell'invenzione è quello di realizzare un contenitore per il condizionamento e la conservazione di materiale sfragistico che garantisca un'adeguata conservazione sia del documento sia del sigillo ad esso annesso. Ancora un ulteriore obiettivo dell'invenzione è quello di realizzare un contenitore che permetta la consultazione degli atti senza la necessità di rimozione dei sigilli dal contenitore, che eviti un contatto diretto fra documenti e sigilli, che permetta la visione dei sigilli senza la loro rimozione dal contenitore e che nello stesso tempo permetta di estrarre con facilità i sigilli dal contenitore quando li si voglia esaminare con attenzione.
