Un ulteriore miglioramento, finalizzato peraltro all'ottenimento di etichette di sicurezza (brevetto N° 1214024 della Autoadesivi S.r.l. di Soliera - Mo.) è stato raggiunto sottoponendo uno strato sottile alla goffratura o imbutitura, ossia a deformazione plastica ottenuta meccanicamente, con matrice incisa con tecnica olografica, provvedendo alla metallizzazione sotto vuoto del predetto strato sottile, spalmando successivamente con una adeguata lacca ed infine adesivando; il metodo viene proposto per ottenere etichette di cui si vuole evitare il distacco ed il trasferimento ad altro oggetto di minor valore commerciale, ed è in effetti efficace, ma, stante la caratteristica della metallizzazione sotto vuoto, necessariamente a copertura totale, risulta inapplicabile ove sia necessario lasciare in vista la superficie sottostante, ad esempio quella di una pagina di un documento compilato o di una foto, o comunque la superficie di un oggetto che riporta elementi da proteggere, come e non limitatamente, ad un marchio o firma.
