DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
The present patent application for invention refers in general to the sector of the methods used for the application of rhinestones and in particular it concerns an innovative method to be used for the application of rhinestones on any solid substrate.
The invention is applicable to any sector, where this type of method can be advantageously used, but preferably it concerns the artistic-decorative sector.
Tecnica nota Known technique
As is known, a rhinestone is a diamond-like stone made in various shapes, sizes and colors and made of glass, acrylic or rock crystal. The rhinestones are so called in memory of the Alsatian jeweler George Frederic Strass who, around 1775, had the idea of covering the lower side of the glass with metal powder, thus imitating diamonds. Since then, rhinestones also called rhinestones, as they were rock crystals collected from the Rhine River, have been excellent imitations of diamonds, at best reproducing their sparkling effect in sunlight.
Although to date the most used applications remain those on fabric, using mainly thermoadhesive rhinestones, further applications are becoming increasingly popular, including those on different types of materials. In particular, these rhinestones are starting to be favorably used in numerous sectors including the furniture sector, being possible a favorable application on most of the materials currently existing and such as wood, metal and plastic materials in other words on any material solid of rigid type.
Currently the methods that allow the application of the rhinestones on the solid supports just referred to, limit their use since the current installation technique mainly consists in obtaining a sort of bas-relief made by means of the prior positioning of the rhinestones on the substrate and therefore in mutual cohesion and on the substrate itself through the application of a transparent hardening resin, which creates a smooth surface on the top. Therefore, in general, the object of the present invention consists in realizing a method with specific characteristics and able to make possible the applicability of the rhinestones on any type of solid surface.
Descrizione dell’invenzione A more particular purpose is to provide a method capable of making a joint of the rhinestones, creating a high relief overall. Other advantages of the invention will result from the detailed description of an exemplary and non-limiting embodiment thereof, illustrated below. Description of the invention
The innovative concept underlying the present invention consists in providing a method for applying the rhinestones on any solid substrate.
In particular, this characteristic makes the aforementioned method endowed with a wide spectrum of applicability, since the intrinsic characteristics make it easily adaptable to application on any type of solid material, i.e. any natural and / or synthetic material, including polymeric ones, such as wood, metal, plastic, glass, hides, materials of mineral origin, materials of a rock type, materials coming from hardened mixtures or amalgams based on essential components and so on.
It must also be highlighted that this method, thanks to the possibility of being able to be carried out also manually, or rather without the aid of special machinery or rather without using intrasportable machinery, allows the aforementioned applicability of rhinestones also on preformed objects and / or assembled and / or installed consisting of the aforementioned materials, i.e. it allows the decoration of furniture in general, furnishings, wall plaster, crockery, bricks, parquet, marble, car fittings, etc.
Another technical feature of the method, according to the present invention, is that of being able to create a decoration with rhinestones in order to create a high relief, that is, with the rhinestones embedded on a substrate from which they emerge with a noticeable detachment. In reality, this peculiarity is not negligible at all, since it allows to obtain a totally innovative surface in relief of the rhinestones, able to inventively maximize all the translucency characteristics of the same and therefore to give the decorated object a surface effect of colored lights and shadows that are very special and unthinkable to obtain using the methods of applying rhinestones of the known art.
Another further technical feature, which diversifies the inventive method, consists in the fact that it is possible to adorn any object made of any material, as well as with a practically unlimited number of rhinestones, even with any size, material and shape of the same. This further peculiarity makes said method practically adaptable to the innumerable types of ornaments to be made and specifically feasible with any type of material to be decorated, at the same time making the field of applicability of the present invention unlimited.
Other characteristics of the present invention are described in the following detailed description of one or more specific embodiments, protected by the various dependent claims.

Modi preferiti di realizzazione dell’invenzione Preferred ways of carrying out the invention
The present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the figures and to a preferred embodiment thereof shown therein, in which identical reference numbers have been used for the same components.
The set of constitutive phases of the inventive method are referred to here starting from the initial phase or from that of the preparation of the substrate. As can be seen in Figs. 1 and 2 this step consists in the realization, on determined points of the substrate 100, of housing holes 300 having the dimensions and shapes suitable for housing the rhinestones 200. Said housing holes 300, in accordance with the aforementioned manualized aspect of the inventive concept , can be created by hand. However, this embodiment does not disregard the fact that the realization of said housing holes 300 can be carried out by means of any numerical or computer controlled carving machine.
The following phase, defined as the cleaning phase, consists, once the aforementioned housing holes 300 have been made, in the careful cleaning of the substrate 100, or in the removal of any residues from the previous processing, preferably using a jet of compressed air.
The step of gluing and manual positioning of the rhinestones 200 in the housing holes 300 follows. In particular, each housing hole 300 and / or the embedding surface of each rhinestone 200, will preferably be sprinkled with an adhesive 400 and therefore the rhinestones 200 coming from this phase will be inserted one by one and sunk into the respective housing holes 300 created in the substrate 100.
At this point, following a quick check and possible further cleaning of the work, the finishing phase follows, consisting of brushing and polishing. The final step consists in the catalization of the glue 400, that is the process which allows, for a predetermined period and in the presence of a defined temperature, the perfect welding of the rhinestones 200 to the substrate 100 through the correct polymerization of the glue 400 used.
Referring to the gluing phase and the catalyzing phase of the glue 400, it must be reported that although a considerable number of glues currently available on the market can be used, it is preferable to use a two-component high-strength glue .
Again with reference to the catalysis values of the aforementioned adhesive 400, it must be referred to that the intervals, in which to understand the temperature and the optimal laying time, to obtain a perfect welding of the rhinestones 200 to the relative substrate 100, i.e. the optimal catalysis intervals, are as regards the laying time between 6 and 24 hours and more preferably 12 hours while as regards the temperature between 8 ° C and 40 ° C and more preferably between 20 ° C and 28 ° C.
A further aspect, aside from all the technical solutions described so far, but of particular relevance in the implementation of the characteristics of the inventive method and specifically evident in Fig. 2, consists in the fact that the housing holes 300 must be created taking into account preferably that each strass 200 must inventively protrude from the surface of the substrate 100 for approximately 50% of its total thickness. However, a deviation equal to ± 20% from the aforesaid value of 50% could be considered acceptable for the purposes of carrying out the present invention. To this end and for those who will have to carry out the present invention, it is appropriate to represent some characteristics of the commonly used glues, i.e. that the thickness of these will affect the above values for about 10%, and therefore this consideration must be taken into account by those which will make the housing holes 300.
Obviously the data provided herein are purely illustrative and absolutely not limitative of the scope of the present invention, since various and obvious modifications could clearly be made by the average person skilled in the art to the previous exemplary and non-limiting embodiments described with reference to the figures. In other words, the patent must be considered inclusive of the modifications and changes that may derive from the following claims.
