Il presente brevetto si riferisce in senso generale ai piccoli elettrodomestici che prevedono la erogazione di vapore, come apparecchi per la pulizia, ferri da stiro ed altri ancora. The present patent refers in a general sense to small household appliances which provide for the supply of steam, such as cleaning appliances, irons and others.

La grande diffusione che ha avuto in tempi recenti questo tipo di apparecchi è stata ostacolata dalle difficoltà inerenti la formazione di calcare durante la generazione del vapore. CLAIMS 1. Steam generator for small household appliances comprising a body in which an electric resistance is embedded, and which has an elongated internal cavity connected to two opposite connections for water inlet and steam outlet, respectively, characterized in that said body it has a cylindrical cavity with a flat bottom, having a water inlet fitting in the center of the bottom, inside which a cylindrical jacket is sealed on the flat bottom of which the steam outlet fitting is obtained, the cylindrical part of said jacket substantially covering the cylindrical part of said cavity.

2. Steam generator according to claim 1 characterized in that the internal cylindrical part of said cavity is threaded to receive the conjugate external thread obtained in the cylindrical part of said jacket.

3. Steam generator according to the preceding claims, characterized in that a layer of heat-conducting material is interposed between the cylindrical parts of said body and said jacket.

4. Steam generator according to claim 3, characterized in that the layer of heat-conducting material is a very thin aluminum sheet.

5. Steam generator according to claim 3, characterized in that the layer of heat-conducting material consists of a metallic paint.

6. Steam generator according to claim 3, characterized in that the layer of heat-conducting material consists of a metallic or metallized paste.

7. Steam generator according to claim 1, characterized in that a gasket is interposed between the edge of said jacket and the bottom of said cavity.

8. Steam generator according to claim 7, characterized in that said gasket is a disc-shaped gasket which covers the bottom of the cavity with the exception of the water supply fitting.

9. Steam generator according to claims 7 and 8, characterized in that the gasket is made of non-stick synthetic material.

10. Steam generator according to claim 1, characterized in that the cylindrical body is an aluminum alloy casting.

12. Steam generator according to claim characterized in that the cylindrical cavity of the body has a volume comprised between 10 cm <3> and 100 cm <3>.

13. Steam generator according to claim 1, characterized in that the electrical resistance has a power of between 800 watts and 2000 watts.
