This invention is a system that allows you to wash, rinse and drain

anything that needs these operations directly in the container,

package or tool to which the system is applied.

In the food sector, SMARTWASH allows you to wash and rinse foods such as

fruits and vegetables. This process is possible directly in the packaging of

purchase, under running water, in a few minutes, and without damaging any

delicate content. The system also allows for rapid water drainage.

The normal washing procedure after the purchase of a package of a food,

such as strawberries, is as follows: open the aforementioned package, place the

product in a container, fill it with water, let the product soak for

some time and, finally, drain it with the aid of a colander. Sometimes it is

it is necessary to repeat these operations as needed.

If there is a need for washing / rinsing under running water, the normal procedure is as follows: place the product in a colander, and place the colander under water

current for as long as necessary. This operation is dangerous as the direct

jet of water could damage delicate products and cause splashes, as well as

SMARTWASH allows you to carry out the complete washing, soaking,

To facilitate the drainage operation and avoid the vacuum effect, especially possible in packages / tools with hermetic closure / lid, one or more openings / holes for the air inlet (E) are provided, positioned on the opposite side drain holes (D).

The openings / holes for air inlet must be small in diameter, so as not to slow down the filling phase of the package / tool, but only allow air to enter during the drainage operation.

Once the washing, rinsing and draining operations have been completed, it will be sufficient to remove the closure / lid of the package / tool to find the contents ready for use (Fig. 3).

In the drawings presented, the inlet tube was positioned at the base of the package / tool, thinking of an easier operation of filling the package / tool with the products to be contained. Consequently, the drainage holes were placed along the lower perimeter and / or on the surface of the base itself. The drawings presented are however to be considered only as an example to better understand the operation of the system, the location of its elements can change depending on the design, manufacturing or other needs.

The Smartwash system is easily applicable to any existing food package, such as fruit and vegetables, with a small addition of material, and can be melted or printed with the package or tool itself during the production phase.
