RELAZIONE RELATION
In the footwear sector we proceed to the ironing of the uppers for moccasin shoes, with techniques now consolidated over time which consist in proceeding manually with this operation. In fact, the worker places the uppers on a series of forms, suitably heated, arranged on a pallet, and performs the ironing by striking the sole of each upper with a hammer. This way of proceeding, in addition to being very uncomfortable in itself, slows down production and is a source of injuries resulting from frequent burns of the operator's hands, not always protected by special gloves. The invention in question, on the other hand, makes it possible to automate the processing cycle with considerable savings in time, avoiding the occurrence of the previously complained accidents. It is in fact a device that performs the ironing of the upper through the combined action of a fixed and heated plate against which, by means of an automated command, the last on which the upper has been placed rests, this shape which is, in turn, heated, all as better described below with reference to the attached table. Said table represents a possible embodiment of the invention, limited to a single ironing station: what will be said for this can refer to an entire work bench, on which a certain number of such devices will be fixed.
From the table it can be seen how the support (1) on which the form (2) is fixed, unlike what currently happens, is not fixed on the work bench, but can rotate around a pin (3), for the action exerted, for example, by a piston (4), of the pneumatic or hydraulic type, so as to bring the mold (2) into intimate contact with the fixed plate (5). In order to make the contact between form (2) and plate (5) intimate, as well as having the contact surface suitably shaped, the plate (5) is fixed to the work bench by means of the spherical coupling between the screw (6 ) and the support (7), coupling made rigid by the action on the handwheel (8). It is clear that before fixing the plate (5) can be made to oscillate in order to perfectly couple to the shape (2). The one described is a possible embodiment of the invention, but it is obviously not the only one, even if it seems to us the most probable. The heating of the form (2) and the plate (5) can take place through the action of two electric resistances inserted, respectively, in the compartments (2 ') and (5').
The operation of the device is quite simple: the operator inserts the uppers into each of the last (2) with the support (1) in position (A). The cycle begins with the action of the piston (9) on the rod (10) and such as to make them assume the position (10 '). With this action, the rod (10), inserted in the rear part of the upper, not shown in the figure, stretches the upper itself making it adhere perfectly to the last (2). The piston (4), intervening in sequence, rotates the support (1) making it assume position (B), bringing the lower part of the upper into intimate contact, arranged, as mentioned, on the last (2), with the fixed plate (5), thus giving rise to the ironing operation, being, as already said, both the form (2) and the plate (5) are hot. After a suitable predetermined time interval, the piston (4) brings the support (1) back to position (A) and, subsequently, the piston (9) loosens its grip with the upper bringing the rod (10) back to its original position. At this point the operator, after having removed the ironed uppers from the last (2), inserts the new uppers to be ironed into them and the cycle is repeated. It is hardly necessary to point out that the pistons (4) and (9), of the pneumatic or hydraulic type, must act in sequence following a command carried out, for example, through a PLC.
