The invention in question concerns a motorized articulated armchair that can? assume various positions, to offer maximum comfort and can? be folded in a configuration of minimum encumbrance, which allows, even a single person, to pass it easily through all types of doors, to put it in the lift and to store it in the boot of a medium-sized car.

Articulated relaxation armchairs with reclining backrests and removable footrests have been available for some time, driven by a motor with relative mechanics and control circuits.

The armchairs of this type currently available are heavy and bulky and for this reason they must be transported by two people, who encounter considerable difficulties. to pass them through certain types of doors. They also cannot be placed in the lift and in the trunk of a car.

The purposes of the present invention are to provide an articulated armchair transportable by a single person, who can? smoothly pass through all types of doors and who can? be placed in the lift and in the trunk of a medium-sized car.

The armchair that you describe has very thin sides, padded armrests that can be folded flush with the sides and a backrest that can? be folded over the seat, in line with the armrests, in order to obtain an extremely compact parallelepiped, which can be inserted in a container of limited dimensions. The container can? be equipped with wheels and carrying handle.

The invention is now described in detail, with reference to the attached drawings, which illustrate, by way of example only, one possible embodiment thereof.

Figure 1 represents the front view of the chair in one of the positions of use, Figure 2 represents the corresponding side view.

Fig. 3 represents the chair seen from above.

Fig. 4 represents a side view of the chair with the backrest partially reclined and the footrest raised.

Figures 5, 6 and 7 show respectively a front view, a side view and a top view of the chair in the transport position.

In these figures, reference 1 indicates the thin sides, with 2 the seat, with 3 the structure of the reclining backrest, with 4 the relative removable padding, with 5 the structure of the articulated armrests and with 6 their removable padded part. With 7? the removable footrest is shown, supported by a system of articulated rods 8, fig. 4, driven by a motor. The rods 8 are covered at the top by a cloth 9, which connects the footrest 7 to the body of the chair.

To reduce the space occupied by the chair during transport, the armrests 5 can be rotated on the joints 10 and aligned with the sides 1, as shown in fig. 5. The backrest can? be overturned on the seat, rotating it on the joint 11, as shown in figures 5, 6 and 7. In this configuration, the chair? insertable in a container of limited size and can? be easily transported: the specified purposes have therefore been achieved.

Obviously, the non-essential construction details could be different from those illustrated by way of example only, without thereby departing from the scope of the present invention.
