Nel settore del nuovo costruito i profili strutturali pultrusi in materiale composito fibrorinforzato (FRP) vengono impiegati per la realizzazione di strutture laddove diventa importante la leggerezza e la durabilità del manufatto. Sono innumerevoli i campi di applicazione che vedono i profili strutturali pultrusi degni sostituti dei tradizionali profili in acciaio o acciaio INOX. In merito al patrimonio edilizio-infrastrutturale esistente, i profili strutturali pultrusi vengono impiegati per il rinforzo, consolidamento e ristrutturazione di opere prevalentemente inflesse in legno (travetti e travi componenti il solaio) apportando un notevole incremento dell'inerzia della sezione laddove il sistema lo necessita, senza peraltro aggravare di peso proprio la struttura esistente e senza modificarne sensibilmente lo spessore del solaio finito. Tale soluzione risulta vincente non solo sotto il profilo ingegneristico, bensì soprattutto dal punto di vista realizzativo, grazie all'elevata leggerezza dei profili che li rende facilmente trasportabili a mano anche nei cantieri più difficili.
