DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a method for making an ornamental element with glass.

The invention also relates to a furnishing accessory comprising at least one of this glass ornament element.

Nowadays there is an increasing demand for furnishing accessories such as chandeliers, floor lamps, wall lamps and the like, which re-propose artistic concepts typical of the 70s.

In particular, furnishing accessories are required that provide support frames, with one or more circular or quadrangular frames, for a plurality of components of similar shape that are repeated equal or with substantially equal proportions but different sizes, such as glass cylinders, spheres glass, glass parallelepipeds and the like.

These 70s-style furnishing accessories, although appreciated, need to be modernized, both to keep up with the technologies of today, and to propose objects that are however new and with a distinctive visual impact compared to the well-known, so that these objects can to propose, referring to a typology much appreciated in the past, however, new, original and distinctive ornamental themes.

Furthermore, from the point of view of assembly, the furnishing accessories of the 1970s of a known type, for example chandeliers, have some drawbacks.

A first of these drawbacks is linked to the fact that the glass, sphere, cylinder, parallelepiped and similar pendants are hung by means of a metal hook, where it is well known that the contact with rubbing (from rocking) between glass and metal often leads to chipping of the glass body.

Furthermore, if a glass pendant falls, it shatters on the ground, thus definitively debasing the value and overall visual impact of the piece of furniture of which the shattered pendant is part.

The main aim of the present invention is to develop a process for manufacturing an ornamental element with glass, capable of allowing the development of new, original and more robust furnishing accessories than existing ones.

Within the scope of the aim, an important object of the invention is to provide a method which can be easily carried out with known techniques.

Another object of the invention is to provide a furnishing accessory comprising at least one of this ornamental element with glass, which can be set up in a simple way and without specific technical pre-knowledge like furnishing accessories such as chandeliers, floor lamps, wall lamps and similar, of a known type.

The main task as well as the intended purposes are achieved by a process for the realization of an ornamental element with glass which is characterized by the fact that it includes the following phases

- place a glass object on a surface or on a shaped support surface

- partially soften said glass object by heating it in the oven, so that it deforms, maintaining its own identity, adapting at least in part to the top or support surface

- cooling and re-tempering the deformed glass object

- insert the deformed glass object into a transparent plastic bag and vacuum seal it therein.

Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become clearer from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of the method according to the invention, illustrated, by way of non-limiting example, in the accompanying drawings, in which:

With reference to the aforementioned figures, the process for manufacturing an ornamental element with glass according to the invention comprises the following steps.

A first step, schematized in Figure 1, provides for placing a glass object 10 on a surface 11 or on a shaped support surface.

A second step provides that this surface 11, defined for example by a tray or a plate in general, is inserted into a muffle 12 of an oven.

The second step involves partially softening said glass object 11 by heating it in the muffle 12 at a temperature of about 500 ° C - 600 ° C; in this way the glass object 11 is partially deformed, adapting at least in part to the plane 11 or to the supporting surface; the object deforms without losing its identity, in the sense that if for example the object 10 is a glass, also the deformed object 13 is in any case evidently attributable to a glass; the deformed object is indicated with the number 13 in figure 2 and in the following figures. A third phase involves cooling and re-tempering the deformed glass object 13, or rather slowly cooling the latter, still inside the muffle in which it was softened and deformed.

A fourth step provides for inserting said deformed glass object 13 into a plastic envelope or bag 14, as shown in figure 3, and sealing it under vacuum therein, as schematized in figure 4.

In this way, an ornamental element 15 was created consisting of a glass object 13, and particularly hot deformed, placed under vacuum inside a plastic bag or bag 14.

With this procedure, the deformed glass object 13 is decontextualized with respect to its function, for example in the case of a glass, and itself appears to have been partially sucked in like air by the bag or envelope 14. The glass object deformed 13 inside the bag 14 is intended to be any object, such as a glass, a vase, an ornament, and the like.

In particular, this object 13 can be a glass flower, a glass leaf, or any other particular typical of Venetian chandeliers, as well as other typical objects of the Venetian glass culture.

This ornamental element 15 is of particular value if the object 13 is made of Murano glass; in this case it is possible to conveniently recover Murano glass objects that have defects that make them unattractive to a buyer, defects that lose their importance when the Murano glass object is subjected to softening according to the procedure described above, allowing so as to recover the overall value of the Murano glass object.

Figures 7 and 8 schematically show two alternative steps of the method according to the invention, in which inside the plastic bag or envelope 14, together with the deformed glass object 13, a frame 16 is placed in order to prevent the perimeter flaps 17 of the plastic bag or envelope 14 to curl as a result of the generation of the vacuum inside the same bag or envelope 14.

The stability of the quadrangular shape for the bag or plastic bag 14 is essential to avoid that by placing two decorative elements 15 side by side, spaces are created between them that allow the view of the frame of the furnishing accessory of which the same elements of ornament 15 are part.

Figures 13 and 14 schematically show further alternative steps of the method according to the invention, which are interposed between the extraction of the deformed glass object 13 from the muffle and the insertion of the same object 13 into the bag 14.

These phases include:

- arranging the deformed object 13 in a metal tray 30 previously sprinkled with detaching varnish for the detachment of a subsequent resin to be poured therein;

- pouring a resin 31 into the metal tray 30 to form a solid block 32 which incorporates the deformed object 13;

- once the resin has hardened, which takes place in the air, the solid block 32 is extracted and inserted into the bag or envelope 14, sealing it under vacuum.

Fluorescent powder is mixed with resin 31. In this way the ornamental element 15 which results from a further visual effect in the dark, highlighting the portion of the solid block of resin 32.

Figure 6 shows a first piece of furniture 20 made with four ornamental elements 15, 15a, 15b and 15c respectively, according to the invention, arranged to define a lampshade.

This first piece of furniture 20 is a table lamp.

Each of the four ornamental elements 15, 15a, 15b and 15c, can contain an identical glass object, or each a glass object different from the others, depending on the visual impact to be obtained.

Figure 10 shows a second piece of furniture 120, which takes the form of a floor lamp comprising a base 121 carrying a support stem 122 for a circular frame to which a plurality of ornamental elements 115, 115a and following are hung. , according to the invention.

Figure 11 shows a third piece of furniture 220, which takes the form of a chandelier comprising a plate 221 for fixing to the ceiling, carrying a support stem 222 for a frame with several annular elements 223, to each of which are hung a plurality of ornamental elements 215, 215a and following, according to the invention.

Two further important furnishing accessories that can be made with a plurality of such ornamental elements according to the invention are a curtain and a divider.

Obviously, it should be understood that even a single element of ornament 15 is to be considered a piece of furniture in its own right, since it can itself be understood as a work of art as such, and as such be affixed, displayed, hung or placed in sight.

Inside an envelope or bag 14, before the air is sucked in, it is possible to associate some fluorescent powder, so that when the ornament element 15 is finished, it is visible even in the dark.

The furnishing accessories 20, 120 and 220 shown and described here are intended as examples and not limitative of the possible applications of an ornamental element 15 according to the invention.

In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the intended aim and objects.

In particular, the invention has developed a process for the production of an ornamental element with glass, capable of allowing the development of new, original and more robust furnishing accessories than the existing ones.

In fact, the ornamental element according to the invention has the glass object inside a plastic bag or envelope which protects it from knocks and scratches, and therefore also in the event of a fall; moreover, the hook for hanging the ornamental element on the frame of the furnishing accessory, chandelier, floor lamp or similar, is associated with the edge of the plastic bag, thus avoiding the deleterious contact between glass and metal of the hook.

Furthermore, the invention has provided a process which can be easily carried out with known techniques.

Finally, the invention also developed a furnishing accessory comprising at least one of this ornamental element with glass, which can be set up in a simple way and without specific technical pre-knowledge, like furnishing accessories such as chandeliers, floor lamps, wall lights. and the like, of a known type.

The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the inventive concept; moreover, all the details can be replaced by other technically equivalent elements.

In practice, the materials used, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.

Where the features and techniques mentioned in any claim are followed by reference marks, such marks have been affixed for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and consequently such reference marks have no limiting effect on the interpretation of each element. identified by way of example by these reference signs.
