DESCRIPTION

The present patent relates to mechanical devices for encrypting and decrypting personal codes and in particular it concerns a new mechanical device for encrypting and decrypting several personal codes through a single main key code.

Many people nowadays need to remember a series of secret codes such as the secret code of the ATM card, the secret code of the mobile phone, the secret code of a burglar alarm, the secret code for accessing a personal computer or a telematic services and so on.

Not everyone remembers all their secret codes perfectly and consequently transcribes them on diaries, electronic address books and so on, possibly writing them backwards and / or under a personal name.

However, it is necessary to carry with you the entire notebook or electronic address book which can be lost or stolen by malicious people who would have no difficulty in tracing all the secret codes.

In order to obviate all the aforesaid drawbacks, a new encryption and decryption device has been studied and implemented for several personal secret codes through a single main key code.

The new device essentially bases its operating principle on the creation, for each secret code to be encrypted, of a set of digits and / or characters including the digits and / or characters of the secret code and of a key-code which it allows to reconstruct which digits and / or characters of the whole constitute the secret code (s).

The preferred model of realization of the new device is composed in its main parts by a panel with movable shelves and / or sliders and by one or more cards bearing the encrypted secret code (s).

The panel consists of a rectangular flat element having a series of planes or sliders preferably sliding in the thickness of the panel. A window or opening on one face of the panel allows you to view a portion of all the planes or cursors.

The planes or cursors are preferably constituted by strips having a series of cells in their length; these cells, some transparent and some opaque, are variously arranged according to a preferably constant ratio.

Each cursor and the relative cells have such dimensions that when the cursor is completely housed in the panel where at least one of its ends protrudes from the edge of the panel itself and only the transparent cells make visible, through the window of said panel, some figures of the card bearing the code (s).

On one edge of the panel there is a slot that allows the insertion of the paper between the rear face of the panel itself, opposite the window, and the sliding planes or cursors.

The card has a matrix of cells on at least one of its surfaces where each cell has identical dimensions of the cells of the cursors and the entire matrix has dimensions identical to the panel window. The position of the cell matrix on the card is such that it is fully aligned with the panel window when the card is inserted into the panel.

The use of the new device is simple and safe. In fact, some basic operations are sufficient to allow the user to encode an indefinite number of codes, remembering only a key-code:

• the user establishes and stores his personal and unique key-code;

• translates the planes or cursors by a number of steps or positions according to the positioning sequence established above;

• it follows that the visible cells of the card matrix are identified;

• establishes its filling criteria (such as 1st column, diagonal, etc.);

• in the cells that are visible, enter the digits of the code to be encoded;

• fills the remaining cells with other misleading characters;

At this point the two objects, code-key and card, which make up the new device conceal the secret coded code. For decoding the secret code, in addition to having both the card and the panel, it is necessary to know the number formed by the position of each plane or cursor, called the key code, and the relative position in the visible cells of the correct digits of the coded code according to the criterion filling. In fact, even if the card were stolen, it would be very difficult to guess in which cells and in what order they contain the encoded code; even if you have the panel with the relative cursors you would need to know the key-code, that is the movement of each cursor, and the reading position of the cells visible as a whole. Using a single card with the same key code, it is possible to encode several personal codes, remembering only one, that is the key-code.

By using more cards with the same panel and the same key code it is possible to significantly increase this capacity. Since a card can contain several codes, it is possible to provide that on each card one or more spaces are indicated in which to write which code / s it refers to (ATM, PEN mobile phone ...) and consequently another window is present on the panel through which to read this writing.

It is also possible to provide that each card has a matrix of cells on each side.

A possible variant embodiment of the device can include cells arranged circularly and concentrically and consecutively, the panel having disc cursors or circular crowns.

To allow the convenient portability of the new device, it can easily assume the size of a common credit card; in this way it can be easily inserted, panel and cards, into any wallet.

To allow easier compilation of the cards, it is possible to provide a special computer program which, having entered the type of device model and the key-code, presents the visible cells and allows you to print cards with matrices bearing the code (s) and already completed with misleading characters generated by the program.

In the attached table, a practical embodiment of the invention is presented by way of non-limiting example.

Figure 1 shows the new complete device consisting of a panel (P) with cursors (S) and a card (C).

The panel (P) consists of a rectangular flat element having a series of cursors (S) sliding in the thickness of the panel and a window or easy-to-read opening (Pfl) on one face of the panel such as to allow the vision of a portion of all cursors (S).

A further window (Pf2) allows you to read what is written in a header (Ci) of the card (C).

On one edge of the panel (P) there is a slot (Pi) which allows for the insertion of the card (C) for the possible housing of other cards.

Figure 2a shows a plane (K) consisting of a strip, capable of being superimposed on other similar ones, bearing along its length some perforated or transparent cells and some opaque cells.

Figure 2b shows a cursor (Se), capable of being placed side by side with other similar ones, consisting of a strip carrying along its length a series of transparent cells and some opaque cells.

When the planes (K) or sliders (S) are completely housed in the panel (P) at least one end of them protrudes from the edge of the panel (P) itself. When composing the key-code by translating the planes or cursors only some cells of the map (C) are visible through the window (Pfl) of said panel (P) and through the cursors (S) or the planes (K).

Figure 3 shows a map (C) showing a matrix (Cm) of cells where each cell has identical dimensions of the cells of the cursors (S) and the entire matrix (Cm) has dimensions identical to the window (Pfl) of the panel ( P). The position of the matrix of cells (Cm) on the paper (C) is such that it is completely aligned with the window (Pfl) of the panel (P) when the paper (C) is inserted in the panel (P) itself.

A header (Ci) present on the card (C) allows you to note a description of the encoded code on the card (C) itself.

An equivalent solution comprises the fact that the card (C), whether or not equipped with cells, on which the various characters making up the code and other misleading characters are written, is transparent and above said cursors and / or planes equipped with cells which are themselves transparent or opaque and where, upon translation of said cursors or planes, the characters identifying the code (s) become visible in the key-code position.

These are the schematic modalities sufficient for the skilled person to realize the invention, consequently, in concrete application there may be variations without prejudice to the substance of the innovative concept.

Therefore, with reference to the preceding description and to the attached table, the following claims are expressed.
