Description
"APPARECCHIATURA A CAMME PER L ' ESECUZIONE DI NODI MULTIPLI SEQUENZIALI E SOVRAPPOSTI , DIMENSIONE DIFFERENZIATA E A VELOCITA' VARIABILE" "CAM EQUIPMENT FOR THE EXECUTION OF SEQUENTIAL AND OVERLAPPING MULTIPLE NODES, DIFFERENTIATED DIMENSION AND VARIABLE SPEED"
The present invention relates to a cam and rocker arm apparatus provided with two perpendicular axes bearing at their respective ends a needle and a hook, suitable for executing multiple sequential, simple or superimposed knots, of different sizes and variable speed.
This equipment finds general application in the joining, relatively to a well-determined section, of very thin layers of paper (a few tenths or hundredths of a millimeter) and finds in particular a useful application in packaging machines for filter bags for products from infusion, where the top of the filter bag, generally consisting of a few thin layers of filter paper folded back on themselves, must be firmly closed in such a way as to prevent the infusion from leaking out during immersion in boiling water, constituting such means of closing also contextual means for anchoring a free end of the manipulation thread to the bag.
For many decades there have been patent disclosures that suggest to fix the layers of filter paper that constitute the closing flap of a filter bag by means of a closed or through knotting in order to propose an alternative to the traditional and unwanted closure systems of filter bags used for decades. , such as metal staples and thermoplastic stamps as they are considered potential pollutants of the infusion and such as to alter its organoleptic characteristics. In particular, the US patent No. 2.307.998 of 1943 illustrates a type of closed knotting which always surrounds the top of the bag and also describes the method for making the proposed knot. The aforementioned documents, while making the closure of a filter bag by knotting or stitches similar to a knot belong to the known art, always refer, for the purpose of making the knot, to known stitching devices which, moreover, have never been able to find a practical industrial application in the closure of the filter bag for the simple reason that the productivity of the filter bag packaging machines is very high (about 200-300 bags per minute) and therefore the knotting operation of each single filter bag (for each stop of the machine cycle) is carried out in a few milliseconds, a circumstance that jeopardizes the guarantee of making knotting stitches continuously.
There are also other methods and devices that describe special knotting points, but all with the characteristic of making single knots that join the paper layer in a single point with the double drawback of not making the knot if the thread is lost in that point. and of not being able to fix longer stretches linearly due to the impossibility of executing more sequential nodes, that is, one close to the other.
In addition to the aforementioned drawbacks, in the joining of several layers of filter paper in general and in the closure of the filter bags in particular, there are other requirements of a very different nature: the length of the linear section involved in the junction or closure of the bag, during its stop may take not one, but two, three, four, etc. simple sequential knotting points, without altering the productivity of the filter bags (fig. A); in addition to the length of the joint section there is also the problem of the thickness to be closed in the sense that the number of layers of filter paper to be fixed can vary or the thickness of each single folded layer can vary, so it may be necessary, for greater guarantee , apply two, three, four, etc. sequential overlapping nodes, without altering the productivity of the filter bags (fig. B); the layer of filter paper to be closed may not be uniform due to the presence of creases inside the folds as in the case of bilobed bags: in this case it may be necessary to apply a series of sequential knots, simple or overlapping, with different dimensions, in a , for example, that the central knot, suitable for fixing the section with creasing, is wider than the two knots which respectively follow and precede it (Fig. C).
The purpose of the present invention is to solve all the above-mentioned problems with the required flexibility of knotting by proposing a mechanical cam and rocker device which, taking the motion directly from the packaging machine on which it is mounted, is able to perform, at each cycle machine, according to the different layers of filter paper to be fixed and the different lengths of the linear sections to be closed, a series of multiple sequential, simple or superimposed nodes with differentiated dimensions and variable speed, i.e. accompanying the speed of the packaging machine in order not to jeopardize its productivity.
The aforementioned object is achieved in accordance with the content of the claims. With reference to figure D, the number 1 indicates a mechanical casing which extends overhanging from a vertical work surface and constitutes as a whole the apparatus which is the subject of the present invention. This equipment essentially consists of three axes which, in the rest position, are mutually perpendicular to each other: a first axis (4) which substantially coincides with the needle bar and is perpendicular to a second axis (3) which substantially coincides with the needle bar. hook needle bar, which in turn is perpendicular to a third axis (2) which constitutes the internal shaft of the equipment where all the cams are pivoted which, mutually phased, give the relative rototranslating movements to all the external organs that characterize the equipment (1).
With reference to Figures D and E, (26) (Fig. E) has been indicated a generic member containing inside it a needle bar (4) bearing at its end (27) a sewing needle (28). This needle bar (4) has the characteristic of being pivoted in three main points (PI, P2 and P3), one of which is fixed (PI) and two mobile (P2 and P3).
The lever (24) operated by a first cam placed on the shaft (2) and as a consequence of its intermittent angular displacement, generates the needle (4) on the bar through its fulcrum (P2) and in cooperation with the connecting rod (30) a vertical intermittent upward and downward movement so that the end of the needle (28) can cooperate, for the execution of each knot, with the relative hook (29). The lever (22) operated by a second cam at P4 works in cooperation with the connecting rod (20), pivoted at point P3 of the member (26), and generates, due to its rotation around the fulcrum (P4), a horizontal displacement of the aforementioned connecting rod (20) by virtue of which the member (26) rotating around its fixed fulcrum (PI) generates a pendular movement on the needle (28), which, depending on the manufacturing requirements, can be sequential, multiple and, at different angular distance α ≠ β (fig.H), while the layers of material (31) to be closed or knotted remain fixed in the containment hopper (21). At the same time as the organs and movements described above, the apparatus (1) is also equipped with means suitable for feeding and unwinding an appropriate knotting thread (14) which, provided with the necessary degrees of tension, cooperates with the aforementioned organs of the apparatus (1 ) for the realization of multiple sequential nodes with differentiated dimensions. More specifically, the yarn (14) fed by known means not shown in the attached figures, is first tensioned in the yarn tensioner (32) which allows it to cross the two yarn brakes (15) and (16) without tearing. Subsequently, the wire (14) passes through the fixed wire guides (17) and (18), as well as the mobile wire guide (39) integral with the bar (4) in its vertical movement, and is fed into the pipe (19) substantially parallel to the bar ( 4) to be introduced first into the further thread guide (27) and finally into the eye of the needle (28). The yarn brakes (15) and (16) are suitable for releasing and tensioning, for each multiple knotting cycle, linear sections of yarn of different sizes. In fact, the aforementioned means (15) and (16) are operated by two mutually phased cams with the second cam which operates the lever (22), which in turn generates the multiple and different angular displacements of the needle (28). At this point, it is understood that for each knotting cycle, since the needle has to make sequential multiple knots of different sizes, it is necessary that the brakes (15) and (16) are able to release in tension the linear sections of thread with different sizes required by the needle.
In figures D, F and G another element characterizing the apparatus (1) is represented in perspective, front and side: the entire structure of the axis of the hook consisting of a series of fixed and mobile members whose conjugate motion characterizes the jump inventiveness of the present invention. In particular, the axis (3) of the hook takes its rotary movement from a pair of bevel gears (5) and (6) powered by the camshaft (2). The aforementioned axis (3) is characterized by a series of organs with motion conjugated to each other that allow it to perform sequential pendular movements with different angular dimensions and in perfect motion phase with sequential angular displacements and with differentiated dimensions of the needle ( 28).
In particular, the axis (3) is integral with a bush (8), which by means of the fulcrum (34) is fixed to the mobile connecting rod (7), which takes its motion from the lever (23) through the fulcrum (25) ( see figs. D and E). This motion allows the axis (3) to slide inside a slot (33) obtained on a fixed plane (9). More specifically, the lever (23) taking the motion, due to its angular displacement, from the fulcrum P4 and then working in phase with the lever (22) transmits to the connecting rod (7), through the fulcrum (25), a linear horizontal motion to intermittence. The aforementioned connecting rod (7) moves the bush (8), on which the axis (3) rotates, by as many linear displacements so that the hook (29) can move sequentially in the slot (33) to carry out, in cooperation phase with the needle (28), a series of sequential multiple nodes with different dimensions. It should also be noted that the multiple angular displacement of the axis (3) is made possible (see fig. F) by virtue of an oscillating bearing (40) which generates, in cooperation with the rotation axis of the bar (3), a fulcrum of oscillation P5 on the center of gravity of which the axis (3) of the hook oscillates in its angular displacements. Basically, the bars (3) and (4), bearing at their respective ends a known rotary hook and a known sewing needle, allow, operated by the conjugate motion of the levers (22), (23), (24) and by a series of cams able to generate angular displacements of different sizes on them, to create, on a material fixed in the hopper (21), a series of sequential nodes (figs. F, H, M, N) with the advantage of being able to change the number of overlapping nodes and the linear dimension of each single node (X different from Y) by simply replacing the relative control cams. It is clarified that the examples shown in figs. F, H, M, N both in terms of quantity of knots performed and their dimensions are purely indicative and not binding for the purposes of the subsequent claims.
A further characterizing element of the apparatus (1) is constituted by the cutting device (10), shown in Figure L, when this device acts in combination with the other members described above.
The aforementioned device (10) is operated by the conjugate movement of the lever (12) and the connecting rod (11) which take motion from a further cam placed on the shaft (2) which works in phase synchrony with the previous cams which operate the levers (22), (23) and (24) and the relative knotting members. In particular, the aforementioned thread trimmer (10), at the last knotting point, of the series of sequential knots made, cuts the last section of the thread (14), after the aforementioned last section (37) of thread it is found inserted in the opening (38) of the last loop (36) of the knots made. In this way this last section remains (fig. C) firmly imprisoned in the last loop which remains closed and tightened by subsequent traction, thus concluding the series of sequential knots.
