Serrando questi ultimi fra gli scudi di supporto 13 e 14, essi si deformano, a partire dagli appoggi 11, all'atto del serraggio delle viti 12. Non viene ottenuto un risultato differente neanche realizzando l'appoggio estendentesi tutt'intorno. I gusci di supporto 13 e 14 sono cedevoli (alluminio, costruzione con materiali leggeri), per cui anche in questo caso si ottengono degli appoggi solo nella zona dei punti 11. La deformazione si forma all'interno dello statore ed il foro 15 diventa non circolare, come illustrato in modo esagerato nella fig. 1. Ciò comporta una perdita di potenza ed un aumento del rumore.
