The present invention relates to a method according to the preamble of the corresponding independent claim. The present invention also relates to a device for implementing the aforementioned method and according to the preamble of the corresponding independent claim.
As is known, in machines for the production of glass bottles and similar objects, the so-called "I.S. machines", there is the need to lubricate each mold, in particular the roughing one, in order to optimize the production process.
In the state of the art it is known to direct into each mold of a machine of the aforementioned type a gas jet, which, treated thermally, deposits on the wall of this mold a thin layer of powdery carbonaceous material (carbon black) defining a lubricating layer which allows to reliably avoid any sticking of a bottle blank into the mold.
Such a device is described for example in FR-2460312 and in a previous Italian patent (n.
1200728) a nome della stessa richiedente. 1200728) in the name of the same applicant.
The known solutions, while allowing appreciable results to be achieved, have various disadvantages linked for example to a significant limitation of the production speed of I.S. wherein there are a plurality of openable molds in fast paced manufacturing chains.
Furthermore, the known solutions provide for the presence of nozzles having non negligible manufacturing and maintenance costs which negatively affect the costs of the I.S. with which they are associated.
The purpose of the present invention is to offer a method and a device for its implementation which allows to coat and lubricate the wall of each mold, in particular of an I.S. machine, with carbon black without, however, the drawbacks of known solutions.
In particular, the object of the invention is to offer a method that can be applied to an I.S. of any type without this having a negative impact on the productivity of the machine itself.
Another object is to offer a method which allows to increase the "falling" speed of the glass gob from the cutting area to the mold with consequent increase in the productivity of the I.S. machine.
A further object is to offer a method which allows to reduce the overheating of those parts of the I.S. (in particular distributors and deflectors) placed between the cutting area of the glass drop and the mold, thus allowing to reduce or even eliminate the treatments to which these parts must be subjected in order to limit their heating. Another object is to offer a device for carrying out the method indicated above which has very low manufacturing, management and maintenance costs and which has a considerable versatility of use.
These and other objects which will be evident to the skilled in the art are achieved by a method according to the characterizing part of the corresponding main claim and according to the claims dependent on it.
The objects indicated above are achieved by a device for carrying out the aforementioned method and according to the characterizing part of the corresponding main claim and according to the claims dependent on the latter.
For a better understanding of the present invention, the following drawing is attached, purely by way of non-limiting example, in which the only figure schematically represents an embodiment of a device according to the invention. With reference to the aforementioned figure, it is schematically represented a plant for making bottles comprising a usual oven 1 in which glass is made in the liquid state, and a duct 2 for feeding the liquid glass (in the form of a continuous element) to a cutting area 3 where known blades or slices 4 are provided (implemented in a per se known manner). A drop of molten glass 5 with a very high temperature (around 1000 ° C) detaches from the cutting area and falls into a centering member 6 and then to a distributor 7. From the distributor the drop falls into a deflector 8, movable in a known way, which distributes the gob in a plurality of successive deflectors 9 positioned in correspondence with the respective roughing molds 10 (only one shown in the figure), for example of a type comprising two half-molds 11 and 12 movable in a known manner.
According to the invention, in at least any point of the path taken by the separated and hot vitreous mass (the drop) 5 between the cutting area 3 and the mold 10, this mass is hit by a fluid containing carbon which, in contact with this mass , releases the carbon in powder form on it and covers it with carbon black.
More specifically, the figure shows two injection zones 13 and 14 of this fluid, which is preferably a gaseous hydrocarbon such as acetylene or the like. In these areas 13 and 14, the first between the centering device 6 and the distributor 7 and the second between the deflector 9 and each mold 10, there is at least one injector, for example of acetylene connected to a corresponding gas supply line 15. The figure shows two injectors 17 and 18 for each zone 13 and 14. The injectors 17 and 18, in particular those in the zone 14, can be fixed or mobile, in which case they are supported by motorized arms not shown. These injectors are arranged on the sides of the path followed by the vitreous mass 5 during its passage from the zone 3 to the mold 10 and preferably in offset positions (i.e. on different spatial planes) in order to have a better distribution on the aforementioned mass of the gas which is emitted by the injectors themselves. These injectors are preferably angled to each other so as to increase the interaction time between the gas emitted by them and the vitreous mass.
The implementation of the method according to the invention provides for the hot glass mass to be hit by the fluid, for example acetylene, emitted by each injector 17 and 18. Since this mass 5 is at a high temperature, when the gas hits it, it ignites and releases on the surface of this mass a thin layer of carbon black. When the mass passes into the mold and is processed here, this layer is deposited on the walls of the mold itself, lubricating it and allowing the glass product to be discharged from this mold without adhering to its walls.
Thanks to the new solution there is no need to have a heat input for the ignition of the acetylene flame as the high temperature of the mass 5 is sufficient for this.
The injectors that emit the gaseous hydrocarbon fluid can be a different number depending on the number of glass masses to be treated or according to the type (single, double, triple drop) of the I.S. which receives the vitreous mass.
Thanks to the positioning of the injectors immediately after the centering device 6, in carbon black which covers the mass 5 after the interaction with the gas, it also allows to lubricate the distributor 7 and the distributors 8 and 9. This decreases the friction between these elements and the vitreous mass. separate 5 and allows to increase the "fall" speed of the latter towards the mold 10 with a consequent increase in the production speed of the I.S. of which the mold is part. Furthermore, this carbon black allows to reduce the overheating of the deflector 7 and of the distributors 8 and 9 and this allows to reduce and even eliminate the thermal protection treatments of these elements.
The gas emission times by each injector 17 and 18 of the device according to the invention are regulated according to the size of the glass mass 5 (or the product to be obtained) and this allows to optimize the lubrication of the distributors and the deflector. as well as that of mold 10.
Finally, as mentioned, the gaseous hydrocarbon emitted by the injectors can also be replaced by any fluid containing a carbon-based product which in contact with the separated and hot glass mass releases on the latter the layer of carbon black necessary for the lubrication of the mold 10 to which this mass is addressed.
