Abstract
The method involves storing energy from a power network (106) of a motor vehicle (100) in an energy buffer (108), and providing an illumination element i.e. backlight element. A display unit i.e. LCD, of the vehicle is utilized for monitoring a power system to identify energy loss when power is provided to the vehicle. The stored energy from the energy buffer is utilized to energize a vehicle system (104) i.e. airbag computer, when power supply failure is detected. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for supplying a vehicle system with energy after power supply failure (2) a computer program product with a program code comprising instructions for performing a method for supplying a vehicle system with energy after power supply failure.
