Tale procedura chirurgica è stata sviluppata come alternativa alla sostituzione totale dell’anca, nota nel settore con l’espressione inglese “total hip resurfacing”, ed è particolarmente indicata per il trattamento di pazienti giovani ai quali sono state diagnosticate malattie degenerative dell’anca di tipo infiammatorio, artrite reumatoide, osteonecrosi o cisti alla testa del femore.
