Descrizione dell’ invenzione avente per titolo: Description of the invention entitled:
“SISTEMA E PROCESSO PER LA PULIZIA DI TELE IN MACCHINE FILTROPRESSA ” "SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR CLEANING CANVAS IN FILTER PRESS MACHINES"
DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a process for cleaning the cloths of filter press machines and to the relative system for carrying out said process.
The filter press is a machine used in various industrial sectors for dewatering sludge deriving from civil wastewater purification processes, industrial processes, and in many chemical / pharmaceutical and mining processes. The dewatering process of said sludge takes place by means of a liquid-solid separation which involves the reduction of the quantity of liquid present in the sludge by means of filter-pressing. The filter-pressing is a process of volumetric reduction of liquid substances that have suspended solids, which is carried out using a filter-press machine. This machine is composed of a plurality of plates, between which there are cloths which adhering to the plates form chambers.
The sludge to be treated is pumped into the filter, filling said chambers. The application of high pressure on the mobile head of the filter pushes the plates against each other, making the liquid exit the chambers and leaving a panel of dehydrated mud on the cloths. The dewatered sludge is subsequently recovered when it has filled the lower part of the chambers by opening the filter and discharging the sludge.
To keep the liquid-solid separation of the machine constant, it is necessary to regularly clean the cloths to bring the system back to its initial efficiency since the efficiency of the filtering system decreases as the content of sludge left on the cloths increases. In fact, if the separation efficiency decreases, the outgoing sludges contain more liquid because less dehydrates, giving rise to an increase in costs in the disposal of said sludge.
The cleaning process of the cloths is carried out by disassembling all the individual plates from the filter press, and by immersing said plates containing the cloths in a tank of suitable size containing a suitable cleaning solution for the removal of sludge, generally an acidic aqueous solution. Disassembling the plates is necessary because it has been found that the circulation of aqueous washing solutions, acid or basic, inside the filter press can cause corrosion of the metal parts of the machine, in particular of the fixed head.
However, the disassembly of the plates has several disadvantages: it requires a long stop of the filter press machine, and it is such a demanding and dangerous action that it is preferable to completely replace the cloths rather than cleaning them. However, the complete replacement is economically onerous and industrially disadvantageous as the cleaning of the cloths generally takes place every 2-3 months.
The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the drawbacks of the prior art by providing a system for cleaning the webs of filter press machines which is simple to implement and which allows the initial efficiency of said machines to be restored so as to obtain highly dehydrated sludge without requiring disassembly. of the plates from the machine and / or the frequent replacement of the cloths and which avoids corrosion of the machine components in the case of use of acidic or basic cleaning solutions.
These purposes are achieved in accordance with the invention with the features listed in the system for cleaning the cloths of a filter press machine according to the attached independent claim 1.
A further object of the present invention is to have a process for cleaning the cloths of filter press machines by means of the cleaning system described above.
These purposes are achieved in accordance with the invention with the characteristics listed in the process for cleaning the cloths of a filter press machine according to the attached independent claim 7.
Realizzazioni vantaggiose dell’invenzione appaiono dalle rivendicazioni dipendenti. Advantageous embodiments of the invention appear from the dependent claims.
The system of the invention for cleaning cloths of filter press machines formed by a press, plates and filter cloths, comprises a panel made of acid or base resistant material, for example a plastic or antacid material, which is placed between the head of the press and the adjacent plate, said panel having a central cavity obtained on the surface facing the plates and a hole positioned on a lateral surface of said panel. Said side hole is the inlet of a cleaning solution for the cloths, acid or basic, and is connected to said central cavity. Said lateral hole has an orthogonal axis with respect to the axis of the central cavity which has its own axis coinciding with the longitudinal axis of the filter press. Furthermore, the system comprises pressurization and / or recirculation means which feed said cleaning solution, acid or basic, to the lateral inlet hole. The pressurization and / or recycling means are generally represented by one or more pumps, preferably selected from centrifugal, metering, magnetic drive pumps, etc. Furthermore, the system includes at least one container for the cleaning solutions.
In the system of the invention, the cleaning solution, acid or basic, reaches only the plates and the cloths without coming into contact with the head of the filter press thanks to the presence of the liquid inlet hole in liquid connection only with the cavity on the panel. The panel thus performs an action of insulation of the head.
The system can also comprise several containers for the cleaning solutions: one or more storage containers for the fresh, acidic or basic cleaning solutions, with the relative pressurization / or recycling means; one or more containers for collecting the washing solutions coming out of the filter press with the relative suitable means for pressurizing and / or recirculating said solutions; one or more containers for neutral cleaning solutions and the relative means of pressurization and / or recirculation used, and also the connection pipes between the different components of the system, including the pipes for sending the cleaning solutions to the filter press, the pipes for the discharge of the washing solutions coming out of the filter press, etc.
The operations in the system of the invention can be managed automatically with the help of a PLC.
The panel generally has the same profile as the fixed head of the filter press to be cleaned in order to completely avoid contact of the head with the incoming cleaning solution.
Ulteriori caratteristiche dell’invenzione appariranno più chiare dalla descrizione dettagliata che segue, riferita ad una sua forma di realizzazione puramente esemplificativa e quindi non limitativa, illustrata nei disegni annessi, in cui: Further features of the invention will appear clearer from the detailed description that follows, referring to a purely exemplary and therefore non-limiting embodiment, illustrated in the attached drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 è una rappresentazione schematica del sistema dell’invenzione; Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the system of the invention;
Fig. 2 è una vista assonometrica schematica di una macchina filtropressa convenzionale; Fig. 2 is a schematic isometric view of a conventional filter press machine;

Fig. 3b is an axonometric elevation view of the panel used in the system of the invention.
Con riferimento alla fig. 1, il sistema 100 secondo l’invenzione per la pulizia di tele di una macchina filtropressa 5 formata da piastre 300 (fig. 2) comprensive di tele (indicate tutte con il numero 10) e da una pressa, comprende - un pannello 1 in materiale plastico o antiacido, il quale è posto all’interno della filtro-pressa davanti alla testata fissa 6 ricoprendola, detto pannello avente un foro 2 per l’ingresso di liquidi sulla superficie laterale del pannello, ed una cavità centrale 7 la quale è in comunicazione con detto foro 2 laterale; With reference to fig. 1, the system 100 according to the invention for cleaning the cloths of a filter press machine 5 formed by plates 300 (fig. 2) including cloths (all indicated with the number 10) and a press, comprises - a panel 1 in plastic or antacid material, which is placed inside the filter-press in front of the fixed head 6 covering it, said panel having a hole 2 for the entry of liquids on the lateral surface of the panel, and a central cavity 7 which is communication with said lateral hole 2;
- almeno un serbatoio 3 contenente la soluzione pulente di lavaggio delle tele, acida o basica, che può raccogliere anche le soluzioni pulenti uscenti dalla filtropressa; - at least one tank 3 containing the cleaning solution for washing the cloths, acid or basic, which can also collect the cleaning solutions coming out of the filter press;
- at least one pump 4 for pressurizing and / or recycling said cleaning solution to the side hole 2.
The central cavity 7 of the panel 1 which is in liquid connection with the side hole 2 which represents the inlet hole of the cleaning solutions towards the plates and the cloths 10 of the filter press machine.
Panel 1 can be inserted inside any filter press and its dimensions depend on the fixed head 6 in front of which to place said panel. It is positioned inside the filter press 5 between the fixed head 6 of the press and the adjacent plate 300 (Fig. 2), after stopping the filter press, discharging the sludge into the sludge collection tank 11 and subsequently opening the filter press. Panel 1 can have flaps or support supports (not shown in the figure) depending on the filter on which it will be mounted. To. example if the plates 300 (shown in fig. 2) are supported laterally by two supports 400 (fig. 2) also said panel 1 will have suitable grooves for its support on said lateral supports 400. The lateral hole 2 can be on any side of said panel provided that the axis of the lateral hole 2 is orthogonal to that of the central cavity which coincides with the longitudinal axis of the filter press.
The panel 1 has an adequate thickness and profile according to the type of filter press machine 5 on which it will be mounted. In fact, the shape of the panel must avoid contact of the cleaning solution, acid or basic, with the machine head. This occurs thanks to the fact that the central cavity 7 does not pass through the panel 1: which allows the head 6 to be isolated from the incoming liquids, in particular from the acidic or basic cleaning solutions.
The tank 3 which contains the cleaning solution for washing, acid or basic, of the cloths is made of a material resistant to said solution, for example antacid or resistant to bases. Said tank 3 can be any tank, container or atmospheric tank. Or it can be a pressurized tank.
The tank 3 is preferably positioned below the outlet 9 of the liquid from the filter press. In this case the cleaning liquid storage tank 3 becomes the tank for collecting and relaunching the cleaning solutions coming out of the filter press.
The pump 4 can be any type of pump, for example centrifugal, metering, magnetic drive, also made of material resistant to the cleaning solution, for example antacid or resistant to bases. The pump 4 is preferably connected upstream (suction) with said tank 3 of cleaning solutions and downstream (delivery) with the side hole 2 for the entry of liquids into the panel. Pump 4 sends the cleaning liquid directly onto the cloths. The pressure that the pump 4 must exert on the cleaning liquid is preferably such as to mechanically remove the sludge from the webs of the filter press.
(rappresentate schematicamente in fig. 1 ma senza riferimento numerico). The system 100 of the invention also includes the connection pipes between pumps, tanks and filter press both for sending cleaning washing solutions and for discharging outgoing washing solutions, etc. (represented schematically in fig. 1 but without numerical reference).
The recycling of the washing liquid is guaranteed by the use of the pump which causes a better mechanical cleaning action than the immersion of the cloths thanks to the use of a liquid under pressure so that the residues of mud and dirt on the cloths dissolve quickly in washing solutions. The washing cycle carried out with the present system is therefore fast, for example between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
It is also possible to use a plurality of tanks 3 with the related pumps 4, each tank containing a different cleaning solution. In fact, the cleaning solutions can be different and therefore require different containers. For example, one or more tanks can be used for fresh cleaning solutions while another plurality of tanks can be used for the collection of waste washing solutions coming out of the filter press after cleaning the cloths and for their recycling in the filter press; yet another tank can be used to contain a neutral cleaning solution for rinsing the cloths after washing with acid / basic solutions. In fact, after washing with an acid cleaning solution, it is particularly advantageous to use a neutral solution with relative recycling in order to completely remove any residual acid solution before refining the filter.
The system 100 can also be managed automatically with the help of a PLC. The system of the invention has innumerable advantages such as, for example, a lower operating cost of the filter-press as the cloths no longer have to be replaced every 2-3 months but simply washed without disassembling the plates.
Consequently, the duration of the canvases is greater. In addition, the system of the invention allows to have an almost always constant filter performance since at the slightest drop in efficiency it is possible to stop the operation and carry out the washing quickly, in about 1⁄2 hour, restoring the operation of the machine just as quickly.
A substantially constant efficiency of the filter-press machine also allows to have filtered water of higher quality and at the same time also more dehydrated sludge with a consequent lower disposal cost of the latter.
Figure 2 represents a conventional filter press machine without the covering panel I and in which the plates interposed between the two heads 6 and 6a are supported laterally through supports 400.
Figures 3a-3b show a particular embodiment of the panel 1.
In particolare il processo dell’invenzione per la pulizia di tele di una macchina filtropressa comprende le seguenti fasi: A further object of the invention is represented by the process for cleaning cloths of filter press machines according to the invention which uses the panel 1 as described above. In particular, the process of the invention for cleaning cloths of a filter press machine includes the following steps:
- inserimento in una macchina filtro-pressa 5 di un pannello 1 avente le caratteristiche descritte sopra, tra la testata fissa 6 della pressa e la piastra adiacente, - insertion in a filter-press machine 5 of a panel 1 having the characteristics described above, between the fixed head 6 of the press and the adjacent plate,
- introduzione all’interno della filtropressa di una soluzione pulente, acida o basica, idonea alla rimozione dei fanghi dalle tele ed in pressione, attraverso un foro laterale 2 posizionato sul pannello 1 come sopra descritto; - introduction into the filter press of a cleaning solution, acid or basic, suitable for removing sludge from the cloths and under pressure, through a side hole 2 positioned on panel 1 as described above;
- ricircolo di detta soluzione all’ingresso di detto foro laterale 2. - recirculation of said solution at the inlet of said side hole 2.
The process described above preferably also comprises a step for collecting the cleaning solution leaving the filter press.
As previously mentioned, the insertion of the panel 1 for the covering and insulation of the fixed head 6 takes place with the filter press machine stationary and open for the purpose. After having closed the filter press 5 comprising the panel 1, the fresh cleaning solution contained in a suitable tank 3 is started to be fed.
This solution subsequently enters the filter press modified as above through the side hole 2 of the panel 1, comes into contact with the cloths and is subsequently collected in the tank of the fresh cleaning solution or in a different tank, preferably positioned under the outlet 9 of the liquids from the filter-press.
As mentioned, it is possible to use a plurality of tanks 3 with the relative pumps 4 in which one or more tanks are used for different cleaning solutions, for example fresh solutions, exhaust cleaning solutions coming out of the filter press, neutral post-washing solutions, etc. .
The cleaning solution necessary for the cloths will then be taken from one or more tanks 3 and sent back to the side hole 2 of the panel 1 through the relative pump. This recycling can be carried out several times and continuously.
The process described above may also include a further final washing step of the cloths by replacing the acidic / basic cleaning solution with a neutral solution. However, it is preferable to carry out this phase of further neutral washing before restarting the filter press. Also in this case this solution is preferably recirculated using the same procedure described in relation to the acidic or basic cleaning solutions.
Numerous variations and modifications of detail can be made to the present embodiments of the invention, within the reach of a person skilled in the art, however falling within the scope of the invention expressed by the attached claims.
