Sono noti i costi elevati delle superfici adibite, fuori e specialmente entro i centri abitati, al supporto di messaggi pubblicitari, spesso di rilevanti dimensioni. Molte imprese, specie medie e piccole, sono perciò spesso costrette a rinunciare a questo tipo di pubblicità o a ridurla nelle dimensioni e nei tempi o nelle frequenze di esposizione, in modo indesiderabile.
