Description
DESCRIZIONE del brevetto per invenzione industriale avente per titolo: “Spazzolino da denti animato” DESCRIPTION of the patent for industrial invention entitled: "Animated toothbrush"
TESTO DELLA DESCRIZIONE TEXT OF THE DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to toothbrushes and in particular to an animated toothbrush, that is to say that it is capable of providing a series of additional movements of the bristles, in addition to those normally conferred by the reciprocating movement of the hand during brushing, in a manner to facilitate and increase the abrasive and cleaning action of the same on the tooth surface during brushing.
It is known in the art to make toothbrushes provided with bristles that trace the dental profiles or electric toothbrushes with motorized bristles. The former are not very efficient as they do not perform an effective cleaning of the teeth since the only motion given to the bristles is that provided by the reciprocating motion of the hand during brushing, as the heads supporting the bristles are rigidly fixed or made in one piece with the handle. of the toothbrush, while the electric ones with motorized bristles often turn out to be impractical and economical. The present invention has for the purpose of overcoming the drawbacks and imperfections of known toothbrushes by means of an animated toothbrush having one or more groups of bristles which can be moved by translatory, jolting, oscillating, rotating or other motion by means of the movement of movable elements of the brush head on which these assemblies are fixed; being the motion of said movable elements derived from the reciprocating motion of the brush handle during the brushing of the teeth thanks to suitable means of connection of the same with this handle.
Advantageously, therefore, the toothbrush of the present invention transforms the reciprocating movement of the hand during tooth brushing into an additional reciprocating, rotary, oscillatory, jolting or other motion of the bristles carried by movable elements mounted in the brush head and this cannot but favor the cleaning of the teeth during their brushing.
The present invention will be better understood in the course of the following description, considered by way of example and in no way limiting, of the attached drawings, in which:

Fig. 6 illustrates a partially sectioned side view taken along the line VI-VI of Fig. 5 of the previous embodiment.
With reference to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, the toothbrush of the present invention according to a first embodiment comprises a head 1, for example made of plastic material, in which one or more discs 8 (in this case 3) fixed are housed by means of pins 10 on the bottom of said head 1, these discs 8 are positioned, with their respective axes of symmetry passing through the pins 10, along the longitudinal axis of the brush and mutually engage by means of one or more teeth 12 (in this case one) which fit into one or more corresponding recesses 13 (in this case one). One of said discs 8, advantageously for example the first towards the handle 3 of the brush, is connected by means of a pin 801, located near the periphery of said disc, to an arm 9 which is in turn snap-connected to the handle 3 of the brush by inserting a small ball 4, made in one piece on a rod 5 connected to said handle, in a spherical seat 6 having dimensions suitable for housing the ball 4 by means of interlocking and not allowing it to come out during the normal alternative brushing movement of the teeth . The head 1 of the toothbrush is also equipped with one or more openings 7 (for example three) to facilitate washing of the toothbrush itself after use.
The three groups 2 of bristles of the embodiment illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 are animated by oscillatory motion since they are each fixed on the three discs 8 which are made to oscillate thanks to the reciprocating motion of the handle 3 of the brush. The reciprocating movement of the hand and therefore of the handle 3 during the brushing of the teeth gives an alternative motion to the arm 9 which is snap-fastened at one end by means of the previously mentioned coupling means (4, 5, 6) to the handle 3 while at the other end it is connected by means of a pin 801 to one of the discs 8, preferably the first, which we will call the conducting disc. Now, the motion for example of insertion of the rod 5 into the head 1 will cause a clockwise rotation of the conducting disk 8 hinged to the arm 9 around the pin 10 for fixing said disk to the bottom of the head 1, this rotation will be equal to at least 30 °. It will be clear from observing the figure that if the conducting disk 8 performs a certain clockwise rotation, the following disk, engaged with it by means of the tooth 12 of the conducting disk and its recess 13, will perform an equal rotation but in the opposite direction, that is to say counterclockwise. Therefore, as mentioned, since all the discs 8 are connected to each other by means of the tooth 12 - notch 13 coupling, the rotation of the drive disc will be transmitted the same in absolute value up to the last disc of the head 1. Clearly by pulling back the handle 3 a counter-clockwise rotation of the conductive disk 8 and therefore of all the other disks in the series, in this case two, will be obtained. If the rotation is therefore at least 30 ° in one direction, the overall rotation angle of the discs 8 will be at least 60 °. On each of said discs 8 is fixed a group of bristles 2 which will then rotate integrally with the rotation of the discs thus assuming an oscillatory motion originating from the reciprocating motion of the handle 3. Clearly if the teeth 12 and therefore the corresponding recesses 13 were more than one for each disc 8, it would be possible to provide a greater rotation to each of said discs 8 and therefore a greater oscillation to the groups 2 of bristles carried by them.
Fig.3 shows a second embodiment of the toothbrush of the present invention. As can be seen by observing the figure, the detachable head 1 of the toothbrush is formed by an external fixed part 101 and an internal movable part 102, which is coupled to the handle 3 of the brush by means of a system. snap formed by a rod 5 and a ball 4 which fits into a suitable seat 6 machined as a piece in the movable part 102 inside the head. Said mobile central part 102 is provided with one or more groups 202 of mobile bristles while the external fixed part 101 has one or more groups 201 of fixed bristles. Furthermore, the lower surface 1021 of the mobile part 102 has a wavy profile corresponding to the wavy profile of the base surface 101 1 of the fixed part 101 of the head 1. Similarly to what has been seen for the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2, the motion of the bristles of the brush is generated by the reciprocating movement of the handle 3, we see how: when the handle 3 is moved alternately during the brushing of the teeth, the lower surface 1021 of the internal movable part 102, which is integral with the handle 3, will be forced to moving on a guide formed by the base surface 101 1 of the fixed part 102. It is evident from the figure that the sliding of the movable part 101 on the fixed part 102 will cause a jolting motion of the bristle group 202 of the movable part with respect to the groups 201 of bristles of the fixed part, this motion will allow said group 202 of mobile bristles to rise and fall by at least 1 mm with respect to group 201 of fixed bristles. Naturally, and as shown in the figure, the fixed part 101 has an opening 1012 suitable to allow the jolting motion of the mobile part 102. To achieve the motion of the mobile part 101 on the fixed part 102, and therefore of the set 202 of bristles with respect to group 201, by means of the wavy profiles of the surfaces 1021 and 101 1, the rod 5 will be made of elastic thermopolymer material so that the handle 3 only moves in an alternative motion with respect to the longitudinal axis of the brush.
Fig. 4 shows a third embodiment of the toothbrush according to the present invention, in which it can be observed that the detachable head 1 of the toothbrush is formed by an internal movable part 103, provided with one or more groups 203 of bristles, and by an external fixed part 104, without groups of bristles; said movable part 103 is coupled to said fixed part 104 by means of an elastic spherical joint 14 which snaps into a suitable spherical seat 15 formed integrally in said fixed part 104 of the head 1. The coupling between the handle 3 and the head 1 of the brush is made, in this particular embodiment, by means of the pressure insertion of a cylindrical part 501 with reduced section of the handle 3 in a suitable hole 601 of the fixed part 104 of the head 1. During the brushing of the teeth the movable part 103 is free to oscillate 360 ° with respect to the fixed part 104 thanks to the elastic spherical joint 14 integral with it and inserted in the appropriate spherical seat 15, so that the group 203 of bristles integral with it can follow in any situation the dental profile, moreover the spherical joint 14, being elastic, allows to reduce the excessive thrusts of the group 203 of bristles on the gums.
In Fig. 5 a further embodiment of the toothbrush of the present invention is shown from above, in this case the handle 3 is snapped into place by means of the ball 4 of the rod 5 in a suitable spherical seat 6 obtained as a piece of a rod 16 movable alternatively along the longitudinal axis of the brush on a groove 17 formed on the bottom of the detachable head 1 of the toothbrush. This movable rod 16 is provided with a series of pins 18, for example four as in this illustration, which fit into corresponding grooves 19 obtained from the lower surface of four suitably shaped bristle supports 20. On these supports 20 are fixed one or more groups 204 of bristles which protrude from suitable openings 105 made in the head 1 of the brush. As can be seen from the figure, the grooves 19 which must engage with the pins 18 have an oblique orientation with respect to the longitudinal axis of the brush, in fact they must allow the transverse reciprocating motion of the bristle supports 20 with respect to the longitudinal axis of the toothbrush when the handle 3 a reciprocating motion along said longitudinal axis of the toothbrush. This reciprocating motion of the bristle groups will be guided by the mutual contact of these groups with each other and by the contact of their upper lateral surface 21 with the lateral surface 22 of the openings 105 as better seen in Fig. 6. In Fig. 5 four supports can be seen bristles 20 shown in a completely offset position with respect to the longitudinal axis of the brush, this is the limit position in which the rod 5 of the handle 3 is completely inserted inside the head 1 of the brush, in fact the pins 18 are located at the bottom of the respective grooves 19. When the handle 3 of the brush is pulled during the brushing of the teeth, the pins 18, which retract into the relative grooves 19 thanks to the sliding of the rod 16 in the groove 17, will force the supports 20 to perform a transversal translation until they will not have reached the opposite bottom of said groove 19, it is evident from the figure that in this ca I know we would find ourselves in the situation in which the rod 5 is disconnected at most from the head 1, that is, the bristle supports 20 will be in the symmetrical position to that shown in the figure with respect to the longitudinal axis of the brush. It should be noted that advantageously the supports 20 and therefore the groups 204 of bristles move in pairs in opposite transverse directions, so as to favor effective dental cleaning during brushing.
Fig. 6 illustrates a side view of the embodiment of the present invention illustrated in Fig. 5 considered along the section line VI-VI, in which the particular shape of the bristle supports 20 and of the sliding rod 16 provided with a seat is highlighted. spherical 6 for the snap-in insertion of the ball 4 of the rod 5 connected to the handle 3. It should also be noted that one or more openings 21 may be present to facilitate cleaning of the toothbrush after brushing the teeth.
As will become clear from the previous description, the embodiments of the present invention can be many, but the fundamental concept that will be expressed in the following claims is to provide a normal toothbrush with an additional motion of the bristles, in addition to that conferred by the movement of the hand. during brushing, which can be carried out by means of an alternative, oscillatory, jolting, rotary or other movement given to these bristles by movable elements of a head.
