“Dispositivo, per dispositivi di bordo, atto ad effettuare il riconoscimento dello stato del veicolo in sistemi di automazione-identificazione per varchi veicolari, e metodo associato.†⠀ œDevice, for on-board devices, able to carry out the recognition of the vehicle status in automation-identification systems for vehicular gates, and associated method.â €
* FIELD OF INVENTION The present invention refers in general to the field of automation and vehicle identification systems. In particular, the invention relates to devices and methods useful in the recognition of vehicle states by on-board units in order to condition their operation. ; STATE OF THE ART; In the current state of the art, devices suitable for use in the automation of vehicular gates are available. The most common are devices including remote controls which, when a button is pressed, transmit a coded radio signal which, once reached the receiver, is analyzed and, if considered valid, activates the automation that can, for example, regulate the movement of a gate. , an overhead door, a sectional door etc. ; Additional functions can be implemented, in the aforementioned devices, through the use of dual frequency controlled transmitters that are controlled by typically microwave activators placed near the automation to be controlled, making activation completely freehand or â € œhand freeâ €. An apparatus of this type is described in the European patent application n. EP1209615 submitted by the same applicant of the present application. There are also other active devices that allow so-called â € œhand freeâ € automation, using radio reception-transmission techniques such as, for example, devices based on proprietary protocols or operating according to standard radio layers such as ZigBee, BlueTooth, WiFi etc. ; Transponder RFID systems can also be used as â € œhand freeâ € type automation / identification activators, albeit with shorter distances. Some of the techniques listed above are also accompanied by additional information such as, for example, the GPS position. ; The most advanced vehicle automation devices included in the state of the art, are therefore able to activate the automation based on spatial information, given by proximity to the activator or transmitter rather than by the knowledge of the absolute position of the vehicle. However, there are conditions that cannot be resolved by means of the vehicle's spatial information alone. ; A typical example is the parking of the car near the activator, in which the spatial information is such that activation should be continually requested. Clearly, continuous activation is not admissible, therefore algorithms must be studied that recognize this state of permanence, deactivating itself after a certain time. However, solutions of this type represent only a translation of the problem since, when the vehicle has to leave, the on-board unit will not be able to decide to transmit the opening command, unless the driver forces it manually, thus losing way all the advantages of the so-called â € œhand-freeâ € mode and basically returning to a simple remote control functionality. It is therefore clear the need to equip the vehicle automation devices described above with parametric sensors, and related interface circuitry, so as to be able to adapt their operation to situations in which external conditions may jeopardize correct operation. ; BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES; Fig. 1 illustrates the electrical diagram of a preferred embodiment of the interface circuit of the device according to the present invention. ; Fig. 2 It illustrates the flow diagrams of two functional algorithms implemented in preferred embodiments of the device according to the present invention. Reference is made to the case of on-board units equipped with radio frequency reception and transmission. ; Fig. 3 It illustrates the flow diagrams of two functional algorithms implemented in preferred embodiments of the device according to the present invention. Reference is made to the case of on-board units equipped with radio frequency transmission only. ; Fig. 4 illustrates the functional block diagram of an automation system for vehicular gates comprising the device according to the present invention. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION; The present invention relates to corresponding devices and methods for recognizing the state of a vehicle, said devices and methods are applicable to on-board devices for vehicles that use radio channels for the transmission or trans-transmission of information and / or commands regardless of the type of radio channel used by the system. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention is part of the technical field of access control and / or automation apparatuses for vehicular gates. ; With reference to the attached Fig. 4, these systems are composed of an on-board unit 10 and one or more ground units 20.; With reference to Figure 1, the illustrated circuit is connected to said on-board unit 10. Said board 10 comprises at least one microcontroller unit 11, a power supply module 12, preferably comprising a battery, and a radio frequency transmitter 13. There may also be: a radio frequency receiver 14 and one or more manual activation modules 15 such as buttons. ; In the ground unit 20 there are usually at least one radio frequency receiver 21, one or more microcontroller units 22, a power supply module 26, a driving module 24 of the electro-mechanical actuators, a memory module 25 and a optional transmitter 23 of the radio frequency type. In the simpler automation systems, the ground unit 20 can provide, in addition to the receiver 21, a microcontroller module 22, a memory module 25 and a power supply module 26, only said actuator control module 24, while, if an access control / identification function is provided, there may also be a further data transmission module 27, of the radio frequency or wired type, to remote processing units. ;; One of the most common access control systems is the automation of gates and overhead doors for domestic use. In this case the on-board unit 10 (normally a remote control) comprises, in addition to a battery power supply module 12 and a microcontroller unit 11, only a radio frequency transmitter 13 and a manual activation module 15. The ground unit 20, in turn, in this case comprises, in addition to a microcontroller 22 and a memory unit 25, only a coded receiver 21 and a module 24 for managing the electromechanical actuators. The innovative feature of the present invention lies in the fact that it makes the on-board unit 10 capable of autonomously understanding the state of the vehicle on which it is installed, passing to the periodic transmission only when it is switched on. In this way, said on-board unit 10 is of the â € œhands freeâ € type by simply adding a module for managing parametric sensors 16 and without adding further modules in the ground unit 20.; In the case of systems equipped transmission, it is possible to combine the information of the state of vehicle in motion with the spatial information of proximity to the buoy, thus optimizing operation. Said parametric sensor management module 16 can be adapted, for example, to provide information regarding the accelerations / vibrations that affect the vehicle even only as simple logical transitions. A fundamental characteristic of said device for managing parametric sensors 16 is the extremely low consumption which can reach power supply currents even lower than 1uA. Said parametric sensor management module 16 preferably comprises at least one parametric sensor 17 and an interface circuit 18 adapted to manage the output signals from said parametric sensor 17 and consequently control the operation of the device according to the present invention. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, said at least one parametric sensor comprises a movement sensor, preferably made of a piezoelectric sensor. Piezoelectric sensors do not require power supply because when they undergo a deformation due, for example, to an acceleration, they accumulate charges between the two faces of the piezoelectric material from which they are made. Said parametric sensor management module 16 is preferably made by the circuit illustrated in the attached Fig.1. The illustrated circuit comprises a comparator 30, a first resistor R1 34 connected with one terminal to the inverting input of said comparator 30 and with the other terminal to a continuous supply voltage Vcc; a module 31 - consisting of a piezoelectric sensor 32 and a zener diode 33 connected to it in parallel - connected to the non-inverting input of said comparator 30 on the cathode side of said zener 33; a second resistor R2 35 connected between the inverting input of said comparator 30 and said module 31, on the anode side of said zener diode 33; a third resistor R336 connected between said module 31, on the anode side of said zener diode 33, and the ground of the circuit. The output OUT of said comparator 30 can be associated with said microcontroller 11 so as to inhibit or enable its operations based on the measurements made by said piezoelectric sensor 32. According to the topology described, the intervention threshold voltage is ̈ defined by the divider consisting of resistors R1, R2 and R3 according to the relation: Vth = R2 * Vcc / (R1 + R2 + R3). Said Zener diode 33 has various functions including protecting the comparator from voltages lower than the negative supply voltage by acting as a rectifier.
It should be noted that the electrical charges that the piezoelectric sensor produces in the negative elongation half-wave are â € œreusedâ € thanks to the diode that allows the zero voltage to be moved to the apex of the negative elastic elongation, producing an increase in positive voltage.
Il diodo, essendo di tipo zener, consente inoltre di proteggere il comparatore da sovratensioni che potrebbero danneggiarlo, The diode, being of the zener type, also allows to protect the comparator from overvoltages that could damage it,
Said resistor R3 serves to provide an offset which prevents the voltage on the non-inverting input of the comparator 30 from becoming negative with respect to the ground voltage of the comparator power supply.
The circuit described and illustrated in Fig. 2 is able to detect different types of stresses since it is possible to act on two fundamental threshold parameters: the voltage threshold value (through the divider R1, R2, R3) and the number of transitions in output from the comparator in a given time interval, useful to be able to discriminate valid stresses from invalid ones by means of appropriate controls implemented in the firmware of said microcontroller 11. By means of an appropriate choice of the value of these parameters we can allow the apparatus according to the present invention to recognize, among others, the following events:
- Accelerazioni brusche e shock. - Abrupt accelerations and shocks. It is achieved by setting relatively high voltage threshold values and a small number of comparator transitions. For example, in the automotive field this can be useful for detecting stresses of considerable entities but having limited durations such as the closing of a door, the breaking of a glass, the fall of an object etc. - Presence of vibrations. This is achieved by setting low threshold values and a relatively large number of transitions. It is, for example, the case in which you want to detect the fact that a vehicle is in motion by discriminating the presence or absence of engine vibration.
- Movimento. - Movement. It is obtained by exasperating the sensitivity characteristics by setting a reduced voltage threshold and an intermediate number of transitions.
This type of tag equipped with this circuit can be validly used to detect movement in many areas of which we report some significant examples:
- Veicolare. - Vehicular. Detect parameters such as whether the vehicle is in motion (vibration) or running (movement) or detect typically shock events such as the closing of the doors.
- Personale. - Personal. Detect that the tag is worn by a person or not and then detect its movement.
- Controllo cespiti (assett tracking). - Assets control (asset tracking). Detect that a given object is moved by detecting any movement.
Other parametric sensors can be selected from the group comprising integrated accelerometers and any other sensor adapted to determine a movement. The signals produced by the aforementioned parametric sensor management device 16 are managed by said at least one microprocessor unit 11 according to an algorithm, implemented in the firmware of said at least one microprocessor unit 11.
The processing method carried out by the aforementioned algorithm is very simple and can also be carried out by the smaller microprocessors as it only requires the presence of a time counter for the definition of analysis periods and the count of transitions. This is a highly positive feature in applications such as these where costs and consumption are typically very stringent.
A first application example of the apparatus according to the present invention is constituted by the automation of vehicular passages such as gates and overhead doors. Consider, for example, the case of â € œhands freeâ € systems based on radio-frequency controlled transceivers.
In the original configuration, the transmission by the controlled RF transmitter 13 of the opening signal is conditional on whether or not the coded activation signal is received by an illuminator.
If the vehicle stops within the range of action or in a critical reception area of the activator signal, the controlled transmitter 13, which must decide whether or not to transmit the opening signal, does not have enough information to be able to make a correct decision. Although it is possible to implement â € œanti pass backâ € policies, that is the recognition of continuous reception states of the activator signal (as in the case of parking under activator), this situation is decidedly critical and unwanted opening of the ™ automation. To solve problems of this type, the present invention can be used to detect the state of a vehicle with the engine running. Using a relatively low threshold and counting a certain number of transitions of the comparator, it is possible to detect with adequate precision the condition of the vehicle's engine running and therefore to enable the opening of the passage with controlled access.
An example of a control algorithm that can be implemented in said one or more microprocessor unit 11 of the device according to the present invention can be schematized with the flow diagram illustrated in the attached Fig.2. Two cases are distinguished on the basis of the presence or absence, in said on-board unit, of an RF receiving module.
In the first case, in which said on-board unit includes both RF transmitter and receiver, the control algorithm includes the following steps:
a) to)
During the quiescent mode, the on-board unit analyzes the condition of the vehicle on which it is installed by detecting oscillations (corresponding to state transitions, in the preferred embodiment described, of said comparator 30) in certain time intervals t1. If during said time intervals t1 a number of transitions N> of a predetermined threshold N1 is detected, the next step is carried out.
b) b)
The analysis of the presence or absence of a land unit is carried out. If the land unit is not present or the code received from that land unit is invalid, the ship will go into quiescence mode.
c) c)
If the ground unit is detected and the decoded data is recognized as valid, the on-board unit begins an in-depth analysis of the vehicle's movement condition, analyzing the number of transitions in a second time interval t2. if N> of a predetermined threshold N2, the condition of running engine is considered valid and therefore it is possible to proceed with the transmission on the RF channel. If, on the other hand, the movement condition is not valid, the on-board unit returns to quiescence.
d) d)
The transmission is carried out and, in the case of the application of vehicle gate automation, the electromechanical actuator is activated and the controlled gate opens.
The implementation of the algorithm described above makes it possible not to use the reception section when the vehicle is off, thus allowing a considerable overall energy saving.
Steps a) or c) can alternatively be omitted without compromising the functionality of the algorithm and thus maintaining the correct functioning of the device.
3 allegata. If said on-board unit includes only the RF transmitter and not the receiver, the control algorithm includes the following steps, as illustrated in fig. 3 attached.
a) to)
During the quiescent mode, the on-board unit analyzes the condition of the vehicle on which it is installed by detecting oscillations (corresponding to state transitions, in the preferred embodiment described, of said comparator 30) in certain time intervals t1. If during these time intervals t1 a number of transitions N> N3 is detected, the next step is carried out.

Trasmissione radio comando di attivazione Activation command radio transmission
e) And)
Possible waiting time for reducing the overall transmission duty cycle, at the end of which one returns to step a).
The reduction of the overall transmission duty cycle can be used to reduce consumption. During the movement of the vehicle, in fact, there are periods of activity of the microcontroller and periodic transmissions. The insertion of a waiting time can be useful for the reduction of the consumptions related to these phases of transmission and activity of the microcontroller.
