Come è noto gran parte dei legni impiegati in edilizia o più in generale in falegnameria sia a scopo costruttivo (come ad esempio travi e simili) come pure a scopo puramente decorativo (ad esempio pannelli di rivestimento, mobili, accessori ecc.) vanno soggetti a macchie, generalmente nerastre, dovute alla presenza nel legno di tannini. La presente invenzione consente di ovviare agli inconvenienti suddetti, grazie a soluzioni acquose di acido ossalico senza richiedere alcun altro componente.
