E’ noto che nella gestione dei centri ippici lo smaltimento delle lettiere usate costituisce un problema particolarmente sentito e che si manifesta sotto diversi profili. Lo stesso processo può essere attuato nell'impianto rappresentato in fig.9 e fig.10, in cui, per il trasporto del materiale dalla vasca (1) al frantumatore (5), si utilizza la sola coclea (3) disposta convenientemente inclinata, con un lato (30) che pesca nella parte bassa della vasca (1) ed un lato (31) che scarica il materiale sul frantumatore (5). Quest'ultimo, in conformità dell'esempio mostrato in fig.9 e fig.10 e nel particolare di fig.11, è costituito da un tamburo (100) con superficie provvista di anelli dentati (101) cooperanti con lame oscillanti (102) montate su un ulteriore tamburo (103) che le movimenta facendole ruotare attorno ad un asse parallelo a quello del primo tamburo (100). Il materiale frantumato viene poi condotto all'essiccatore (9) da una coclea (80) anziché dall'elevatore (8) precedentemente descritto. Superiormente al tamburo (100) è montata una saracinesca (104) mediante la quale si può regolare la quantità di materiale trasferito al frantumatore (5).
