L'apparecchiatura è composta da un telaio metallico di base (3) che poggia su quattro piedini regolabili (9). Sulla piastra metallica di base (5) sono montati i motori (1) e (2), a sua volta la piastra (5) è montata sul telaio (3) tramite quattro elementi elastici (8) con la funzione di limitare la trasmissione delle vibrazioni dalla piastra (5) al telaio (3) (elementi antivibranti). Sulla piastra metallica (5) viene posizionata e fissata rigidamente una pedana (6) che può essere realizzata nei diversi materiali sotto elencati. Inoltre sul telaio (3) vengono montate due alette (7) realizzate nello stesso materiale della pedana (6). L'apparecchio è infine dotato di un telaio metallico per l'appoggio mani (4) ricoperto dello stesso materiale con cui vengono realizzate la pedana (6) e le alette (7). In commercio esistono modelli di pedana vibrante dotati di uno o due motori che generano vibrazioni. Al fine di ottenere vibrazioni efficaci in tutte quattro le posizioni che può assumere il soggetto è importante che i motori siano esattamente posizionati lungo l'asse trasversale della piastra e simmetrici rispetto all'asse longitudinale, inoltre i motori esterni (1) devono essere sempre in coppia. Solo questa soluzione permette di ottenere vibrazioni efficaci specifiche per ogni posizione assunta dal soggetto sulla macchina, selezionabili attraverso il pannello di comando (Fig.7). Molto importanti sono i materiali utilizzati per realizzare le parti della macchina direttamente a contatto con il soggetto, ovvero la pedana (6) su cui il soggetto appoggia i piedi e la ricopertura per l'appoggio delle mani (4). Nei modelli attualmente in commercio tali componenti sono fatti di metallo, gomma oppure plastica. Prove eseguite per lungo tempo su soggetti con diverse caratteristiche fìsiche, dal soggetto osteoporotico a quello in fase di riabilitazione, fino all'atleta di altissimo livello, hanno dimostrato che il contatto con materiali lisci e sintetici (ferro, gomma, plastica o altro di natura chimica) unito ad una vibrazione non corretta, determina un enorme calo di forza. Al contrario l'utilizzo, per i componenti sopra citati, di materiali naturali (legno non verniciato e quadrettato, sughero, cuoio, bamboo, canapa, lino), unito ad una corretta vibrazione determina un enorme potenziamento e riequiiibrio neuromuscolare.
