Description

Mechanism to make interchangeable the tips of the instruments for laparoscopy only.

Stato dell’Arte. State of the art.

The need to contain healthcare costs has led in many countries to abandon single-use instruments in favor of multipurpose instruments, often however composed of a resterilizable portion and a disposable one, which generally includes the cannula and the operating instrument (forceps, scissors, dissector, etc).

The purpose of the present patent application is the presentation of a mechanism that allows the replacement of only the terminal part of the instrument, the one that actually comes into contact with the patient's tissues. This mechanism is of absolutely general use, and therefore can be sold separately as a single-use product, for the purpose of increasing operational safety, and is applicable to both traditional forceps and double forceps for single-access laparoscopy referred to in PCT / IT2013 / 000052.

Descrizione della realizzazione preferita. Description of the preferred embodiment.

In fact, we observe in Table 1 how, unlike the previous forceps holder frames (Table 2), made in a single piece, connected to the cannula, which contained the articulated quadrilaterals for opening the forceps, to which only clips and cables were added, in the case of new frame, this is composed of five elements, the first (1) which in the general case is connected to the cannula, contains a second element (2), which can slide in the direction of the cannula axis, and which has two holes in the direction perpendicular to the sliding axis, within which two shafts of different lengths (3 and 4) held together by a base (5) can be moved. In correspondence to the central sliding axis, the element (2) has two recesses in the central area (6 and 7), in the first of which passes the cable that controls the opening and closing of the forceps and hooks to the shaft (3), while the shorter shaft (4), connected to the base (5), passes through the second. Since then the longer shaft (3) protrudes from the frame (1), while the element (2) comes out very little from the top, pressing on the shaft (3) which protrudes, the second shaft (4) is also lowered. ) connected to the element (5), which leaves the cavity (7) empty, while the sliding of the longer shaft does not affect the coupling to the cable. The tab (8) is instead inserted into this cavity, which is connected on the opposite side to the axis (9) of the arms (10) of the forceps opening quadrilateral (11). A spring (12), also present in the previous frame, as well as the quadrilateral and forceps (11), holds the forceps open, while the last of the five new elements (13) is the true forceps holder, which however is limited to being a C-shaped structure, with four rear protuberances that guide the connection between the latter and the first element (1). How then the hooking and unhooking of this last part (13) already assembled with all its components inside (8-12) works is quite simple. In fact, it is sufficient to raise the control ring of the instrument, to advance the pawl (2) with respect to the base (1) while pressing on the shaft (3), and at the same time close the forceps (11) which causes the tab (8) to protrude. ), which is inserted into the cavity (7), where, by pressing on the base (5), the shaft (4) is reintroduced. It should also be noted that the latter has a lower section in the coupling area, so it cannot go out except by repeating these operations in reverse. It should also be noted that, thanks to the configuration adopted, it is also very easy to mount forceps that open both in the plane of rotation of the control ring and in the plane perpendicular to it, since it is sufficient to construct a tab (14) similar to the previous one (8), but which has the two hooking holes on one side to the pin (9) of the arms (10) of the forceps opening quadrilateral (11), on the other to the short shaft (4) connected to the base (3), so that are parallel to each other instead of perpendicular, as shown in Table 3. Of course, all this is only a way to realize the detachment of the forceps with respect to the instrument, and other possible solutions always fall into the more general case of an instrument that presents only the interchangeability of the instrument. tip.
