It is precisely the birth of the ban on smoking inside public places that came into force in January 2005 that determines a strong character of originality, as the frequent gathering of smokers outside them (not imaginable before the ban) gives it character of indispensability as regards the ecological aspect and relevance as regards the advertising and communication aspect. The display in A4 format, in fact, has precisely characteristics of strong visibility thanks to the physical concentration of the users and its lighting thanks to the solar energy panel that makes it particularly visible at night.

From a technical point of view, the outdoor wall ashtray with illuminated advertising display with solar energy has the shape of an irregular parallelepiped (Table 1- Front View Closed container) with the upper base inclined in a gentle and rounded way at 30 ° from the top towards the low on the short side, 24.99 cm wide, 43.99 cm high. and 8.53 cm deep. and it is made up of a painted galvanized steel body which gives it a notable impact resistance (Table 2-Side view of closed container). Under the four rectangular holes we find the illuminated LED advertising display in international A4 format (21x29.7 cm) (Table 1 Point F). Frontally, the advertising or communication sheet is generally inserted and enclosed by two 3 mm thick plexiglass sheets. of the same format. Its introduction or extraction is allowed by a sliding system of the same that we will describe later.

By opening the flap container thanks to the triangle key we have the container open at 90 ° (Table 3 - Open container with front view). As we know solar energy is clean energy that can be easily transformed into electricity for the operation of LED lighting: the solar panel captures the sunlight during the day and transfers it into rechargeable batteries which, during the night, thanks to a twilight sensor (Table 4 Point P), they release it allowing the operation of a LED lighting connected to it. The small solar panel is silicon-based and positioned in such a way that it is exposed to the sun for most of the day. Perfectly embedded in the structure of the container, its small dimensions easily make up for the storage of energy necessary to operate the 5 LED lighting (Table 4 Point R). The LEDs are designed to emit a strong light with a very low energy consumption in fact it only takes a few hours of sun on the solar panel to have an autonomy that guarantees the LEDs an autonomy of more than 30 hours.

Thanks to this panel, renewable, non-polluting energy is used. The photovoltaic cells contained in the small solar panel are made of silicon with dimensions that can vary from 4 to 6 inches. The photovoltaic cells, protected by a rigid ABS film, power two rechargeable batteries via two electric wires placed inside a box glued to the left side closing wall (Table 4 Point Q).

The rechargeable batteries are charged during the day so that at night, when switched on thanks to the twilight sensor, the maximum light output expressed by the 5 LED lamp is 2 W.

These batteries are in turn then connected by means of two electric wires to the 5 LED lamp (Table 4 Point R) which is placed on the long left side of the advertising display and fixed to the wall by means of metal fixings. In this way the advertising display lights up almost uniformly thanks to the ability to diffuse light ensured by the material characteristics of the plexiglass.

Below the photovoltaic solar panel (Table 4 Point A) they are fixed with 2 screws each, two against perforated walls X and J overall 7.34 cm wide. and 2.53 cm high. and are re-entered inwards for 3 cm. These side walls have been designed in such a way that, when the cigarettes still lit are pressed from the outside (i.e. from the 2 holes B and D of the front wall of the closed container) the butts fall due to the force of gravity inside the stainless steel basket. .

These two counter-walls X and J are in turn joined by a galvanized steel plate (Plate 4 Point Z) 5.2 cm wide. high 1.00 cm. which has a very precise function: it allows the lock (Table 4 Point G) to close as the flap placed in a vertical position locks on this plate, while placed horizontally it allows the container to open.

Just below, again, we find an inclined stainless steel invitation (Table 4 Punto S) that fits perfectly on the upper short side of the advertising display. The function of this invitation is to ensure that the ash and butts slide inside the basket and possibly not smudge the advertising display itself. We arrive at the advertising display in A 4 format illuminated as described above (Table 4 Point F).

This display, as mentioned, is made up of two 3 mm thick sheets of plexiglass. within which the advertising or communication sheet is inserted.

The introduction of the sheet takes place through a sliding system. The outermost plexiglass sheet (i.e. the palpable one with the container closed) has the dimensions of A4 sheet (21 cm. By 29.7 cm.) And is fixed to the container from the inside by 4 steel plates W (Table 4 Point W ). The innermost plexiglass sheet, on the other hand, is slightly narrower on both long sides and runs on the outermost one only vertically, thanks to the fact that it fits perfectly with it, recessing. The sliding system is guaranteed by eight plexiglass plates, four per sheet, glued two by two on the long sides of both plexiglass sheets. The four outermost (Design 4 Point J) are glued to the palpable sheet on the outside, the four innermost (Design 4 Point U) are glued to the narrowest inner sheet. Thanks to a groove present both in the plates J and in the plates U exactly in the opposite direction, if the two sheets are superimposed U and J are practically superimposed and therefore the sheets are blocked. If, on the other hand, the innermost sheet slides upwards, the plate U completely exceeds the plate J in height and the internal sheet can detach and allow the introduction of the A4 sheet.
