Descrizione dell’invenzione industriale dal titolo: Description of the industrial invention entitled:
SISTEMA DI PULIZIA DEL FILTRO DI UN ASPIRAPOLVERE CLEANING SYSTEM OF THE FILTER OF A VACUUM CLEANER
Descrizione Description
Cleaning the filter of vacuum cleaners equipped with a centrifugal separator (cyclone) and without filter bags is essential to obtain a high and continuous suction effect and therefore to optimize the performance of the appliance, respectively of the centralized system.
Filter cleaning systems are known with the use of conical filters and covered or treated to reduce the adhesion of the dust particles and to facilitate their detachment from the filter, with the use of filters periodically subjected to mechanical shocks, with the use of filters, for example made of textile material, deformable in one direction under the action of suction, respectively in the opposite direction under the action of a weight applied to the filter, with or without inversion of the air flow.
However, all of these known systems periodically require the removal of the filter and its mechanical cleaning and / or by jet of air and / or washing, respectively, requiring the replacement of the filter with a new one. Apart from the operations of removing the filter, its cleaning and its repositioning, respectively its replacement, the filter partially clogged with tiny particles, practically difficult or not removable with known systems, determines a significant decrease in the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner with possible excessive stress on the suction turbine motor.
The invention has the task of realizing a system for cleaning the filter of a vacuum cleaner of the type indicated above which guarantees the continuity of the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner, without requiring cleaning operations on the filter itself which can be of the usual known type, for cylindrical example with pleated filter element and hollow inside.
To accomplish this task, the invention proposes to subject the filter support, respectively the filter itself, to the action of a vibrator which, operating following each suction cycle having a predetermined duration, and following the shutdown of the turbine engine suction, causes the detachment of the layer of dust and minute particles of dust from the filter, operating with a certain frequency, possibly variable, and a certain amplitude of vibrations. Conveniently, said filter is positioned vertically inside the vacuum cleaner so as to favor the free fall of the dust downwards where it is collected by the known removable container for emptying.
The vibrations according to the invention are produced by a vibrator of the type with an electric motor driving an unbalanced rotating mass. Said vibrator according to the invention is applied internally to the filter on its support member so as to transmit the vibrations produced through said support to the filter.
However, the invention does not exclude that the vibrator is of the induction spool type and that it acts directly on the filter, for example on the support discs of the filtering body made of textile or non-textile material or on the rigid perforated cage inside the filter.
According to the invention, the support for the filter can be of the known type, for example with a bracket fixed at the top fixed to the structure of the vacuum cleaner, for example to the separation diaphragm between the suction and centrifugal separation area and the one containing the motor with turbine suction without excluding that the filter holder is applied to the structure of that part of the vacuum cleaner where the centrifugal separation takes place. In place of a fixed and rigid application of the support, this can also take place with the interposition of elastic elements able to make the support together with the applied filter elastically articulated with respect to the rigid structure of the vacuum cleaner so as to favor the vibratory movement transmitted by the vibrator applied conveniently inside the filter, without excluding the application of the vibrator externally to the filter, respectively to its support.
Practical tests have shown that the layer of dust particles adhering to the filter begins to peel off already at approx. 70 Hz, while at approx. 90 Hz you can notice a decrease in the cleaning effect, starting from approx. 120 Hz there is an increase in the cleaning effect, the optimal effect is obtained starting from approx. 175 Hz, a further increase in frequency, on the other hand, does not lead to a significant improvement in the cleaning effect.
The cleaning effect also depends on the amplitude of the vibrations determined by the unbalance of the rotating mass and the stiffness of the vibrating parts. Practical tests have shown that with a modest unbalance of the rotating mass the cleaning effect is insufficient while with a large unbalance, the vibrations produced are too strong and noisy for the environment without obtaining a considerable increase in the cleaning effect. The optimal average of the amplitudes is obtained with a mass inertia resulting from the following formula J = 2.5kg mm2 which, with a frequency of approx. 175 Hz, gives a good cleaning effect, obtaining amplitudes ranging from approx. ± 0.071 mm at the upper end of the filter at approx. ± 0.14 mm at the lower end of the filter.
Tests have shown that the deposited layers of dust first detach from the filter and subsequently the deposited fine particles detach, with a vibration duration of approx. 10 sec maximum, a good filter cleaning is obtained, longer durations do not result in significantly better cleaning. The invention does not exclude that an automatic frequency variation is made during the duration of the vibrations, for example by varying the number of revolutions of the vibrator motor. It has been found that a known type of non-stick layer applied to the filter does not significantly improve the cleaning effect.
The filter cleaning cycle conveniently takes place automatically following each suction cycle having a predetermined duration and following the shutdown of the suction turbine motor, without excluding that the vibrator is controlled in a different way, for example on the basis of an increase in depression downstream of the filter, caused by a certain clogging of the same; also in this case, of course, the engine of the suction turbine will first be switched off.
The invention is explained more closely on the basis of an example of execution of a vacuum cleaner operating with the filter cleaning system according to the invention illustrated schematically in the attached drawings which are purely for explanatory and non-limiting purposes.
Fig. 1 schematically illustrates the vertical section for a vacuum cleaner of a centralized suction system with the support for the filter equipped with a vibrator according to the invention.
Fig. 2 illustrates in detail the vacuum cleaner filter illustrated in Fig. 1 in section according to a vertical plane containing the axis of the filter and passing through the vibrator applied to the support bracket for the filter.
L'aspirapolvere è costituito essenzialmente: The vacuum cleaner essentially consists of:
- da un involucro superiore 10 contenente il motore M con la turbina di aspirazione T ed il tubo di emissione E, - from an upper casing 10 containing the engine M with the intake turbine T and the emission tube E,
- dal diaframma di separazione 7 - from the separation diaphragm 7
e dall’involucro inferiore 6 del vano di separazione centrifuga con tubo di aspirazione A, con staffa di supporto 2 completa di vibratore 5 per il filtro 1 e con contenitore inferiore 6a staccabile per la polvere raccolta. and from the lower casing 6 of the centrifugal separation compartment with suction tube A, with support bracket 2 complete with vibrator 5 for filter 1 and with detachable lower container 6a for the collected dust.
The support bracket 2 at the top is fixedly applied on the separation diaphragm 7 while at the bottom it is equipped with a threaded nut 9 integral with the bracket 2 for a bolt 8, on the vertical stem of which a retaining disk 3 is applicable for the base of the filter 1 and a knob 4 which can be screwed onto said shank of the bolt 8 to tighten the filter 1 resting on the top against the separation diaphragm 7. The filter 1 is of the cylindrical type with a toroidal filter body 1a for example pleated internally provided with a rigid perforated cage 1b. Said filtering body 1a is provided above and below with an annular support plate 1 d, 1 c usually provided with an elastic sealing gasket. The vibrator 5 is fixed on the lower horizontal portion of the support bracket 2 by means of the same bolt 8 screwed onto a nut 9 or element with a threaded hole fixed applied to the bracket 2 in the middle area and in correspondence with a through hole. Said bolt 8 tightens between the head and the lower horizontal portion of the bracket 2 the fixing base 5f of the vibrator 5 while the end of the threaded stem of the same bolt 8 allows the application of the support disk 3 for the filter 1 and the application of the knob 4 to be able to replace the filter 1 if necessary.
The vibrator 5 is formed at the bottom by the fixing base 5f to which coaxially fixed, a support element 5g with bearings for the shaft 5d with unbalanced rotating mass 5e and a support element 5h for housing the electric motor 5a with shaft 5b and elastic joint 5c. Said support elements 5g and 5h are fixed to the fixing base 5f by means of at least two through screws 5i. The vibrations produced by the rotation of the unbalanced mass 5e are transmitted to the support bracket 2 and to the filter 1 applied to said bracket, naturally the amplitude of the vibrations will be wider in the lower area and less wide in the upper area of the filter 1.
The dust which detaches from the filter 1 due to the effect of the vibrations falls freely downwards into the removable container 6a of the vacuum cleaner.
Conveniently, the filter 1 is cleaned automatically by activating the motor 5a, following each suction cycle having a predetermined minimum time duration and following the shutdown of the motor M of the suction turbine T. However, a different control of the motor is not excluded. 5a of the vibrator 5, for example by means of a calibrated sensor sensitive to an increase in the depression downstream of the filter, naturally determining first the shutdown of the engine M of the suction turbine T and then the operation of the vibrator 5 for a predetermined time.
