Descrizione del Brevetto per Invenzione Industriale dal titolo: "DISPOSI-TIVO PER UCCIDERE INSETTI VOLANTI". Description of the Patent for Industrial Invention entitled: "DEVICE TO KILL FLYING INSECTS".
DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
La fig. The invention relates to a device for killing flying insects such as diptera, hymenoptera, neuroptera, etc. mainly characterized by the fact of operating a slow continuous introduction into the air of liquid attractive insecticide from the protruding part of a wick from a container, drawing on the bottom of an inaccessible tank, self-feeding by capillary absorption until the contents are exhausted. By suitably relating the type of form of the liquid attractive insecticide to be used to the type of insects to be eliminated from time to time, it is possible to constantly adapt the device to the specific requirements of use. It is known that the property of certain substances to exert an irresistible appeal on certain types of insects is currently used to produce attractive insecticides. Said insecticides, of the liquid or solid type of granular type, are used in the recall station to eliminate the insects that come to be in a surrounding area of possible interference. As far as flying insects are concerned, for example, an insecticide of specific use for the house fly is known which provides a poison for elimination, a sugary substance constituting the edible part and the pheromone operating the attractive action. To this complex, by adding "alcohol, we arrive at another attractive insecticide of particular use for the moscerinodrosophila. This current system operating the almost instantaneous elimination of the winged insect, attracted to the recall station by the attractive substance present in the insecticide, does not as soon as the same has ingested the poisoned food, however, it presents serious drawbacks deriving from the fact that the bodies of the killed insects fall on the insecticide and rapidly reduce the possibility of intervention with the operating space until the complete exhaustion of the function. In this connection, an inconstant insecticidal action is determined, the deterioration of the residual part of the product hidden by the covering blanket formed by the bodies of the killed insects and the need to throw, and therefore dispose of, the quantity of product left in the station container. to replace it with a further dose of product or above, the sistenra. elimination of flying insects by attraction in the elimination station as currently practiced involves a consistent waste of product and a high use of manpower which is in particular required to try to maintain an effective intervention effect in the station. The invention avoids said drawbacks by using a new concept device in which the flying insect is attracted to the vertical wall of a section of wick from which an insecticide continuously emerges, hitting it, which determines, by elimination almost instantaneous, the fall to the ground at the station. This achieves a constant insecticidal effect until the quantity of insecticide foreseen in the storage tank is completely exhausted and a restoration of the operating condition which can be carried out by supplying said inaccessible tank with another insecticide. Cleaning at the station can then be carried out on its own by removing, with conventional means, the remains of the dead insects present on the ground. Basically, for the elimination of flying insects, a device available at the station is provided consisting of a containment body 1 for maintaining attitude with an internal tank 2. In said tank an attractive liquid is provided in which it is fishing, up to the bottom , a passing wick 3 with a clearance stop in the upper axial duct 4, so as to preclude access to the tank, which has a stable setting for continuously self-feeding, until the contents are exhausted, a protruding part of it, of adequate operating length as a diffuser, through which the combined action of attracting and eliminating insects that are in the area of possible interference is carried out. The self-feeding of said protruding part of the wick 3, through which the insecticide spreads in the air, occurs by capillarity which determines the continuous ascent of the liquid insecticide along the fibers of the weaving body of the wick itself. The container 1 provides, integral with the inlet 5 of the duct 4, an equidistant system of separator baffles 6 bearing a conical roof 7 thus determining, under the roof itself around the part of the spreading of the insecticide, spaces facing outwards in which the air tends to stop. In these spaces, constituting the immediate arrival areas of the flying insects recalled by the attractive substance foreseen in the insecticide, by reducing the dispersion effect in the environment of the insecticide itself, its concentration increases around the diffusion part of the wick 3 so as to to greatly raise the elimination action operated by the means in said zone. For the suspended arrangement of the device, a gripping ring is provided 8. To allow the device to be supplied with other insecticide, a threaded supply duct 9 is provided in the container 1, which can be closed with a screw cap 10. To allow the device to be broken down, particularly useful for transport, a windbreak device 11 is provided, equipped at the bottom with a coaxial body 12 with internal spiral thread for the integral application on the threaded mouth 13 of a container 14 which can be closed separately with a screw lid 15. For manual gripping a handle 16 is also provided for the device. Forms of embodiments are illustrated purely by way of indication and as such do not limit the system to the drawings of Tables 1, 2 and 3. Table 1 shows an essential version of a single-body device available on a plane observable in longitudinal section view in fig. 1 and in top view to fig. 2 for the observation of the conical roof 7. Fig.
3 is a cross-sectional view of only the system with three separating baffles 6, with the hatched limit of coverage allowed by the conical roof 7, determining three equal spreading spaces of the insecticide emitted by the protruding part of the wick 3. At Tables 2 and 3 illustrates a further embodiment version of the device including two components which can be connected to each other to allow the containment body to be separated from the apparatus for accelerating the poisonous effect. The ring finger 8 can be observed for hanging, the duct 9 with screw cap 10 to allow it to be refilled and the handle 16 for manual gripping. In particular fig. 4 of Table 2 is a perspective view of the said assembly while Figures 5, 6 and 7 of Table 3 are respectively views of the closed containment body, of the accelerating part of the effect only and of the containment body without the lid.
