Le matrici in gomma o silicone per uso orafo ed odontotecnico vengono solidificate se effettuate “a freddo†e vulcanizzate se eseguite a cottura, all'interno di specifici stampi chiamati staffe che ne determinano la forma. Si producono per duplicare oggetti attraverso il complesso procedimento della cera persa.
