Title: Bending / stirrup bending / straightening machine with adjustable cutting system

DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a bending / stirruping / straightening machine with an adjustable cutting system.

This solution is conveniently applicable for bending or shaping of metal bars and wires and cutting after bending / shaping particularly for the formation of brackets for reinforced concrete structures.

Automatic machines of this type are well known in the prior art.

They generally comprise a feeding system, means for possible straightening, cutting means and folding means.

Generally the cutting means are separated from the bending means, the bending means generally being constituted by a central nib or fork which acts as a sealing element of the rod to be bent and a peripheral nib that can be adjusted towards and away from the central nib to effect the folding. However, there are solutions in which to obviate the problem of not leaving too much material in the cutting queue of the bracket that must be sheared by the supply rod, in which the knife is positioned on the rotating disk carrying the bending nose, exactly next to it, in so that in clockwise rotation there is bending and in counterclockwise rotation there is the cut of the bracket made (See Patent for Industrial invention n.890283 (application 69559A / 68 d 18.7.68) as a supplement to the Italian patent of 11.4.68 n.60531

This solution had the undoubted advantage of bringing the cutting knife together in the rotating disk, compacting everything and favoring the approach of the cutting means to the folding means.

This solution, however, was later abandoned particularly because it did not allow folding in both directions (clockwise and anticlockwise).

The object of the present invention is to obviate said drawbacks.

This and other purposes are achieved with the present invention as per the claims, by means of a bending / straightening machine for wires and bars, particularly a stirrup bending machine, of the type comprising at least feeding and possible straightening means, cutting means and associated bending means in a rotating support disc / plate which comprises around a central nib for holding the bar / wire to be bent in position, a bending nib and a cutting knife cooperating with an adjacent counter-blade upstream of said rotating support disc / plate and below the bar / wire in advance to be bent and cut, characterized by the fact that: - the said knife on the said rotating support disc / plate:

it is adjustable towards and away from the rotation axis of the rotating support disc / plate;

- it can be retracted under the plane of said rotating support disc / plate.

- the said counter knife:

- it can be retracted under the plane of the disc / rotating support plate;

- it can be adjusted longitudinally above the plane of said rotating support disc / plate, towards or away from its axis of rotation.

This solution eliminates the drawbacks of the previous solution with a knife in a fixed position, allowing shorter or longer tails to be cut from the brackets even for a value less than the overall radius of said rotating disk or plate and rotation is also made possible. for over 180 °, therefore also anticlockwise, eliminating the obstacle of the knife.

Figure 1 represents a schematic front view of the bending and cutting unit of the stirrup bender.

With reference to the figures, it can be seen that the central guide and holding nib in position of the wire or bar to be bent passing along the feed line (x-x) is indicated with 4, being able to be made in any convenient way according to known technique and obviously also retractable .

The disk / support plate (d) which supports both the folding nose (3) and the knife (2) in an adjustable way rotates around the central nib (4).

The knife 2 for purpose 6, like the bending nose (3) adjustable in distance with respect to the center of rotation, can be retracted;

The counter knife 1 is placed adjacent to the rotating support disc / plate, and is both retractable (to facilitate the release of the system) and can be projected onto the plane of the disc / plate to support it for the respective cutting with rotation of the disc / support plate in anticlockwise direction, and finally movable above this rotating support disc / plate towards or away from its rotation axis in accordance with the same positioning of the cutting knife 2 to have cuts also very close to the center of rotation.

It is understood that with this solution it is possible to have hook tails cut from the brackets even very short and therefore with a significant saving of material.

Obviously, the machine being equipped with straightening means can also perform straightening only without bending with the respective bending unit.

CLAIMS 1 Bending machine for wires and bars, particularly stirrup bending machine, of the type comprising at least feeding and possible straightening means, cutting means and associated bending means in a rotating support disk / plate (d) which comprises around a central nib for holding the bar / wire to be bent (4) in position, a bending nose (3) and a cutting knife (2) cooperating with an adjacent counter-knife (1) upstream of said rotating support disk / plate (d) and under the bar / wire in advance to be bent and cut, characterized by the fact that: - said knife (2) on said rotating support disc / plate (d): - it is adjustable towards and away from the rotation axis of the rotating support disc / plate (d); - it can be retracted under the plane of the disc / rotating support plate (d). - the said counter-knife (1): - it can be retracted under the plane of the disc / rotating support plate (d); - it is adjustable longitudinally displaceable above the plane of the said rotating support disk / plate (d), moving towards and away from its axis of rotation.
