TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention refers to the sector of boxes suitable for packaging and transporting goods, which are at the same time suitable for being used as displays in points of sale. Specifically, the invention relates to a box suitable for containing heavy goods and for being stacked.

STATE OF ART

In the sector of displaying goods for sale, for example in the context of large-scale distribution points of sale, but also in the context of smaller points of sale up to small shops, ? the use of displays obtained by stacking the boxes used for the packaging and transport of the related products is known. These exhibitors are particularly appreciated because? allow, compared to traditional sales shelves, to make products available to the public in a much shorter time. short and with the use of less manpower.

Usually, to make products available to the public ? simply remove from each box a pre-cut portion that extends over one or more? walls.

These exhibitors are particularly appreciated also because? they have relatively low cost. In fact, the individual boxes are generally made with simple corrugated cardboard shapes, cut or punched to size.

? I also know the use of assembling this type of exhibitors on pallets, so that they can be distributed and handled already? mounted and already? loads of their own products, making cos? even more the phase of placing the exhibitor in the point of sale is simple and fast.

So in itself? widely known, a pallet, or pallet, ? a flat and raised structure by means of shims or supports in order to be able to be forklifted, lifted and moved by means of forklift trucks, transpallets, and the like. The pallet therefore constitutes a raised support which, in addition to allowing easy handling, ? extremely useful also to protect the goods from dirt and humidity? present on the ground. Usually, therefore, once loaded with its goods, the pallet remains with it in all movements, whether they are intercontinental shipments or movements within the same warehouse, until the goods are unloaded and routed to other destinations.

The dimensions of the pallets are defined by special regulations, so that each user can use the pallets indifferently and without difficulty any pallet received from other users together with the goods. The pallet can be made of wood, cardboard or, more? advantageously in the case of pallets intended to hold exhibitors, in polymeric material.

The exhibitors described above, obtained cio? stacking a plurality? of boxes, though? widely appreciated are not free from faults.

In fact, the individual boxes, being made of corrugated cardboard, have rather poor mechanical characteristics in terms of strength and deformability. For this reason not ? Known types of boxes can be stacked if they contain relatively heavy products, such as for example bottles containing liquids (for example drinks, detergents, cosmetics and the like) or other products such as books, housewares, hardware articles, etc.

because simple boxes are not able to support the weight of similar products, a first proposal? was to increase the thickness or the number of layers of the corrugated cardboard which forms the shapes from which the boxes themselves are obtained. However, this solution is not optimal, why? in addition to increasing the mass of the packaging that must be handled and disposed of, it makes it more? the folding phase of the die-cut shape, necessary to obtain the box itself, was difficult.

A second proposed solution? that of equipping the boxes with accessory elements, such as, for example, reinforcements or frames in plastic or wood. Like the previous one, this solution also increases the mass of the packaging to be handled and disposed of, and complicates the phase of preparing the box, whether it is done at the time of packaging or at the time of displaying the products.

Therefore, in the technique ? felt the need? of a box, also made of simple corrugated cardboard, which is relatively simple and which can be stacked and used as a display, even with relatively heavy products.

PURPOSES AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

? object of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art.

In particular, ? The aim of the present invention is to provide a box which, with respect to known boxes, has increased resistance to compression.

Furthermore, a task of the present invention ? that of making available a box that can be stacked, even when it contains relatively heavy goods.

Still another task of the present invention? that of making available a box that is cheap and easy to make.

Finally, another task of the present invention ? that of making available an assembly that allows easy management of the box.

These and other objects of the present invention are achieved by means of a box and an assembly in accordance with the attached claims, which form an integral part of the present description.

In accordance with a first aspect, the invention relates to a box comprising:

- a fund;

- two front walls parallel to each other and spaced apart by a width w in a first direction x; And

- two lateral walls parallel to each other and spaced apart by a length l in a second direction y;

- two half lids,

where, each of the two half-covers:

- ? obtained by the extension of a frontal wall; And

- includes a? flap, at? end? opposite to the front wall; in which, when the box ? closed:

- each of the two half-covers ? folded with respect to the respective front wall so as to be parallel to the bottom; And

- the flap of each half-cover? folded towards the inside of the box.

The particular structure of the box makes s? that the two fins bent towards the inside of the box define a beam particularly suitable for resisting bending forces.

Preferably the two half-covers jointly cover the entire width w included between the two front walls and the respective flaps are placed close to each other and overlap in the x direction. Advantageously, the two half-lids have equal dimensions to each other.

In accordance with this solution, the beam formed by the fins of the two half-covers is located in the center of the width w of the box, thus maximizing the resistance.

In some embodiments, each flap comprises notches, arranged in correspondence with the side walls of the box, in which each notch of the flap is? configured to accommodate a portion of the respective sidewall.

In some embodiments, each sidewall of the box includes notches, arranged in correspondence with the flaps of the half-lids, wherein each sidewall notch is? configured to accommodate a portion of the respective fin.

The arrangement of the notches prevents relative movements from occurring between the flaps of the half-covers and the side walls deriving from the bending force applied to the upper plane of the box. In this way, the box as a whole maintains the configuration more? efficient to resist compressive stresses.

Preferably each corner where a side wall and a front wall approach each other, ? made in such a way that there is locally an overlap of a plurality? of layers of material.

The predisposition for the presence of more? superimposed layers of material, determines a greater resistance of the single edge. In this way the box as a whole is more? efficient to resist compressive stresses.

In some embodiments, the box further comprises:

- tabs which extend downwards from the bottom perimeter, as an extension of a side wall and/or as an extension of a front wall;

- slots positioned on the perimeter of the upper surface, in vertical correspondence with the tabs arranged on the bottom; And

- recesses made in the walls of the box in correspondence with the slots, having a shape complementary to the tabs provided on the bottom.

This solution allows you to safely stack the boxes on top of each other. In fact, when the boxes are stacked, the tabs of the upper box are accommodated in the slots and recesses of the lower box, thus preventing unwanted horizontal movements.

Preferably the tabs comprise a lateral notch so as to define a hook.

This solution allows you to stack the boxes one on top of the other in an even safer way. In fact, when the boxes are stacked, the hook tabs of the upper box grip the upper plane of the lower box, thus preventing unwanted lifts.

In some embodiments, the box further comprises a pre-cut portion extending over one or more of the boxes. walls.

The pre-cut portion allows you to quickly and easily display the goods contained inside the box, which can therefore it can be used as a display even if the configuration is closed.

In accordance with a second aspect, the invention relates to an assembly comprising a box and a pallet comprising seats configured to accommodate the tabs of the box.

The pallet provides a solid and secure base for the first box in a series of boxes stacked on top of each other, both for transport and storage, and for display.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

While the invention? susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, some preferred embodiments are shown in the drawings and will be described in detail below. It must be understood, however, that there is no no intention of limiting the invention to the specific embodiment illustrated, but, on the contrary, the invention is intended to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents which fall within the scope of the invention as defined in the claims.

- two side walls 38 parallel to each other and spaced apart by a length l in a second direction y;

- two half-covers 40,

How already? highlighted above, the box 30 ? described in its position of use. In accordance with this position, the bottom 34, placed in the lower part of the box 30, develops in a horizontal plane (parallel to the xy plane), while the side walls 38 and the front walls 36 develop in respective vertical planes (parallel to the z-axis).

So in itself? known in the field of paper converting, the box 30 of the invention can? be made starting from a flat shape 44 obtained from a single layer of material, for example corrugated cardboard, cut or punched to size. An example of such a flat shape 44 ? shown in figure 7. How can the expert person? well understand, the box 30 of the invention can? assume many different configurations, starting from the flat shape 44 up to the fully assembled box 30; again, the fully assembled box 30 can? assume many different configurations, for example an open configuration (see figure 1), a semi-closed configuration (see figure 2) or again a closed configuration (see figure 3). In this description, if it is not expressly stated otherwise, it will be done? reference to the fully assembled box 30 in the closed configuration. In this configuration, in fact, the technical characteristics of the box 30 cooperate best with each other and provide the greatest advantages.

As mentioned above, each of the two half-covers 40 comprises a flap 42, arranged at the end? opposite with respect to the front wall 36 of which the half-cover 40 ? the extension. The 42 fin? bent with respect to the half-lid 40 so as to be inside the box 30 when this is? in closed configuration. In this regard, see in particular figures 5, 11 and 12.

As mentioned above, the two half-covers 40 have length L in the y direction, where L > l. Thanks to this feature, when the box 30? closed, the two half-covers 40 rest on the end? top of the two side walls 38. In this regard, see figures 1-4 and 11 in particular. Preferably also the fins 42 of the half-covers 40 have a length L in the y direction, where L > l.

Preferably, when box 30 ? When closed, the two half-covers 40 jointly cover the entire width w included between the two front walls 36 and define an upper plane 46 parallel to the bottom 34. In this configuration, the two flaps 42 of the two half-covers 40, both bent inwards of the box 30, are juxtaposed to each other and overlap in the x direction (see figure 5.a).

Preferably the two half-covers 40 have equal dimensions to each other. In other words, the two half-covers 40 preferably have a width in the x direction equal to approximately w/2.

In some embodiments, each lug 42 may in turn understand a plurality? of layers of material. For example, the? fin 42 pu? be obtained through a plurality? of successive folds, as you can? see in the schematic representation of figure 5.b.

In some embodiments, the flaps 42 of the half-covers 40 comprise notches 48, arranged in correspondence with the side walls 38 of the box 30. Each notch 48 of the flaps 42 is configured to accommodate a portion of the respective side wall 38, when the box 30 is closed.

In some embodiments, the side walls 38 of the box 30 include notches 50, arranged in correspondence with the flaps 42 of the half-covers 40. Each notch 50 of the side wall 38 is configured to accommodate a portion of the respective flap 42, when the box 30 is closed.

Preferably, both the flaps 42 of the half-covers 40 and the side walls 38 of the box 30 comprise respective notches 48, 50, in correspondence with each other. The notches 48, 50 of each pair (one arranged on the flap 42, the other arranged on the side wall 38) are configured to fit into each other, in a known way in the paper converting sector, when the box 30 ? closed.

In accordance with some embodiments, each corner 52 where a side wall 38 and a front wall 36 approach each other, ? made in such a way that there is locally an overlap of a plurality? of layers of material. Preferably this overlap extends for a significant portion of the height of the corner 52. By height is meant the extension in the z direction, which is? advantageously the same for all the walls, front 36 and side 38. In other words, how can you? see in particular in the detail of figure 6.a, the lateral wall 38 comprises a flap 54 folded by 90? towards the outside of the box 30 and that ? therefore approached to the adjacent front wall 36, so as to locally obtain a superimposition of two layers of material in the x direction.

Again with reference to the corner 52 described above, where a side wall 38 and a front wall 36 approach each other, preferably also the front wall 36 comprises a flap 56 folded by 180? towards the inside of the box 30, and what therefore? approached to the flap 54 of the lateral wall 38. In accordance with this solution, the flap 54 of the lateral wall 38 is therefore enclosed between the front wall 36 and the flap 56 of the latter, so as to locally obtain a superimposition of three layers of material in the x direction. Furthermore, in accordance with this solution, a single corner 52 of the box 30 comprises a plurality of of folds.

Preferably, in accordance with a widely known solution in the paper converting sector, the flaps 54, 56 of the side 38 and front 36 walls comprise respective joints 58 configured so as to firmly maintain the configuration which is conferred by the successive folds. These joints 58 are shown in a decoupled configuration in the flat shape 44 of figure 7 and in a coupled configuration in the sections of figures 13, 15 and 17.

As mentioned above, the overlap of plurality? of layers of material extends locally for a significant portion of the height of the corner 52 where the two walls 36, 38 come together. The significant portion can? for example be a portion greater than 50%, preferably greater than 70% of the height.

All the characteristics described above make it possible to obtain a box 30 which, although it is made in a simple way and with techniques in itself? known in the field of paper converting, it is particularly resistant to the effort deriving from the support of a load on the upper surface 46 defined by the semi-covers 40. How can the person? well understand, the advantages provided by the box 30 of the invention can be particularly appreciated when more? specimens of the box 30 are stacked on top of each other, for example for transport or to form a display. The technical characteristics of each box 30 are in fact aimed at effectively supporting the weight of what? what can? be placed on top of the box 30 itself, typically another identical box 30 loaded with goods 32.

How can the expert person? easy to understand, each fold made to the material during the assembly of the box 30 gives greater strength to the material, since? locally causes an increase in the moment of inertia.

The two folded flaps 42 emerge from the upper plane 46 defined by the half-covers 40, thus constituting a section with a high moment of inertia and, consequently, with a high flexural strength. In other words, the two fins 42, brought close to each other, define a beam, preferably positioned in the center of the upper surface 46, and which extends between the two side walls 38. It should be noted that the support of a load on the box 30 determines a bending force in the upper plane 46 and a compressive force for the box 30 as a whole, in particular for the walls and for the corners 52.

Furthermore, the structure described above allows the half-covers 40 and the respective flaps 42 to rest on the two side walls 38. In fact, considering the y direction, the two half-covers 40 have a length L greater than the distance l between the two side walls 38 (i.e. the relation L > l holds). Therefore, when box 30 ? in the closed configuration, the two half-covers 40 rest on the side walls 38, which perform a support function. See, for example, figure 11.

In the beam formed by the fins 42, the overall characteristics of resistance to bending are also improved by the arrangement of the notches 48, 50 which define a constraint between each fin 42 and the side walls 38 on which it rests. In fact, the typical deformation deriving from the bending stress would impose a sliding between the fins 42 and the side walls 38. This sliding could lead the side walls 38 to move away from the vertical orientation in which they bear better? efficient loading. Well, the constraint defined by the notches 48, 50 prevents this sliding between the flap 42 and the side walls 38, keeping the latter in their vertical orientation and thus ensuring optimal performance with respect to compressive load.

Also the particular shape of the edges 52 allows the box 30 of the invention to guarantee a considerable resistance to compression. As described above, in fact, each corner 52 where a side wall 38 and a front wall 36 approach each other, ? preferably made in such a way that there is locally an overlap of a plurality? of layers of material. In some embodiments, each corner 52 further comprises a plurality of of folds. Each corner 52 made in this way represents a sort of angular pillar, particularly robust. Indeed, as the expert person can? well understand, the overlap of a plurality? of layers of material and a plurality? of folds causes an increase in the moment of inertia of the corner section. Ideally, considering the edge as a compressively loaded structure, the increase in the moment of inertia considerably increases the resistance with respect to the buckling. at peak load (or buckling) which represents the typical settlement for compressive loading.

The local superimposition of a plurality? of layers of material, as obtained in the invention, ? very efficient why? can? be made starting from a flat shape 44 (see figure 7) obtained from a single layer of material. In this way, unlike some known solutions in which the overlapping of more? layers of material ? extended to the entire flat shape 44, in the box 30 of the invention the overlapping of several? layers of material ? limited to areas where it constitutes a real advantage.

In accordance with the embodiments of the attached figures, the box 30 further comprises tabs 60 which extend downwards from the perimeter of the bottom 34, for example as an extension of a side wall 38 and/or as an extension of a front wall 36 Preferably, the box 30 also comprises slots 62 positioned on the perimeter of the upper surface 46, in vertical correspondence with the tabs 60 arranged on the bottom 34. Furthermore, the box 30 comprises recesses 64, formed in the walls 36, 38 in correspondence with the slots 62, having a shape complementary to the tabs 60 arranged on the bottom 34. In other words, the slots 62 and the recesses 64 of a first box 30 allow to receive the tabs 60 of an identical second box 30 superimposed on the first.

How can the expert person? well understand, when two boxes 30 in accordance with the invention are stacked one on top of the other, the presence of the tabs 60 received in the respective slots 62 and in the respective recesses 64 allows the boxes 30 to be constrained with respect to unwanted movements in the horizontal directions . In this way a particularly robust stacked display is obtained.

In accordance with the embodiment of figures 13 to 18 , the tabs 60 comprise a lateral notch 66 so as to define a hook. Figures 13 to 18 show a succession of steps necessary to stack two boxes 30 comprising such tabs 60 comprising the lateral notch 66. In particular, figures 13 and 14 show a step in which a first box 301 is? placed as a base on which a second box 302 identical to the first must be stacked. Figures 15 and 16 show the transitory phase in which the second box 302 ? sets the? orientation necessary for? the respective tabs 60 can correctly enter the slots 62 and the recesses 64 of the first box 301 below. Figures 17 and 18 show the correctly stacked configuration, in which the tabs 60 of the second box 302 are correctly received in the slots 62 and in the recesses 64 of the first box 301 below and in which the lateral notch 66 of these tabs 60 encloses the layer of material of the semi-lid 40 which defines the upper surface 46 of the first box 301.

How can the expert person? well understand, when two boxes 30 in accordance with the invention are stacked one on top of the other, the presence of the hook-shaped tabs 60 allows to constrain the boxes 30 not only with respect to unwanted movements in the horizontal directions, but also with respect to unwanted lifts. This results in an even more robust stacked display.

Preferably, the box 30 of the invention comprises a pre-cut portion 68 which extends over one or more of the boxes. walls 36, 38. Even more? preferably the box 30 of the invention comprises a pre-cut portion 68 which extends over each of the front walls 36. In itself? known, the pre-cut portion 68 is left in position for the storage and transport phases of the box 30, while for the display phase, the pre-cut portion 68 can be left in place. be removed so as to expose the goods 32 contained therein even if the box 30 remains in the closed configuration.

In accordance with another aspect, the invention relates to an assembly 70 comprising at least one box 30 in accordance with one of the embodiments described above and a pallet 72 adapted to securely receive the box 30. In particular, if the box 30 comprises the tabs 60 which extend downwards from the perimeter of the bottom 34, the pallet 72 comprises seats 74 configured in such a way as to receive the tabs 60 of the box 30. In other words, the seats 74 provided in the pallet 72 follow each other by arrangement, dimensions and configuration, the slots 62 and the recesses 64 of the box 30.

In accordance with one embodiment of the assembly 70 of the invention, the pallet 72 is of the type described in the Italian patent application n.

Thanks to the fact that the seats 74 firmly receive the tabs 60, the pallet 72 forms a solid and secure base for a first box 301, which in turn forms a solid and secure base for a second box 302, and so on. away recursively. In particular, the invention provides a box which, with respect to known boxes, has increased resistance to compression.

Furthermore, the invention makes available a box that can be stacked, even when containing relatively heavy goods.

Again, the invention makes available a box that is cheap and simple to make.

Finally, the invention makes available an assembly which allows easy management of the box.

All the details described above can be replaced by other technically equivalent elements. At the same time the technical characteristics described by way of example in relation to a specific embodiment can be extrapolated and applied to other embodiments.

In conclusion, the materials used, as well as? the contingent shapes and dimensions may be any according to the specific implementation requirements without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the following claims.

Claims (10)

1. Box (30) for packaging and displaying goods (32), comprising: - a bottom (34); - two front walls (36) parallel to each other and spaced apart by a width w in a first direction x; - two side walls (38) parallel to each other and spaced apart by a length l in a second direction y; And - two half covers (40), wherein, each of the two half-covers (40): - ? obtained from the extension of a frontal wall (36); And - includes a? flap (42), at? the extremity? opposite to the front wall (36); in which, when the box (30) ? closed: - each of the two half-covers (40) ? folded with respect to the respective front wall (36) so as to be parallel to the bottom (34); And - the flap (42) of each half-cover ? folded towards the inside of the box (30); and wherein the two half-covers (40) have length L in the y direction, where L > l. 2.
