Description

Field of invention

The object of the present invention relates to a solid self-adhesive formulation and relative products containing said formulation, which, once applied on the walls of sanitary articles, gradually release the sanitizing substances with each shower of water from the flushing of said sanitary articles.

State of the art

At the state of the art, examples of self-adhesive finished commercial products applicable to the walls of sanitary items, such as the toilet (or more commonly WC), are known, to guarantee hygiene and / or the supply of perfuming substances at every shower of water in the toilet flush.

Generally these products generally in the form of gel can be dispensed by means of containers, to prevent the gel from coming into contact with the hands of the user during the application phase on the walls of the toilet. The gel? contained in said applicators / dispensers which are generally equipped with a plunger or with compressible soft walls. The gels are applied on the walls of the toilet by pushing the plunger of said dispensers with the fingers or by pressing the soft walls of the container with the fingers. In this way the gel is pushed outwards in contact with the walls of the toilet to which it adheres.

These containers are in particular made of plastic. For the current eco-sustainability standards? ? more and more? It is desirable to have products that require less and less use of these materials.

An example of a known self-adhesive formulation contained in dispensers of this type? that disclosed in EP1325103. It is a pasty gel comprising an adhesion promoter, surfactants and water. The water in this case? fundamental to favor the adhesion of the adhesion promoter to the surface of the sanitary article. In particular, according to what is reported in EP1325103,? a water content of at least 20% by weight, preferably from 40 to 70% by weight with respect to the weight of the total composition, is necessary to obtain an adequate adhesion of said promoter to the surface of the toilet.

On the other hand, a high water content in said formulations generally does not? advantageous. In fact, after opening the container of the finished product, since said formulations contain not only hydrophilic but also hydrophobic components, the separation of the two hydrophobic and hydrophilic phases could occur. A high concentration of water could also lead to the generation and consequent stagnation of microbial load or molds in the product left inside the container and still to be used, especially if it is not closed properly, thus remaining in contact with the air.

Finally, if the toilet is not used for a certain period of time, the water contained in the gel tends to evaporate, drying the product which not only has a worse aesthetic appearance but? even less effective once you reuse the toilet.

Furthermore, the components described in this formulation are all synthetic and therefore less responsive to current eco-sustainability standards.

? consequently felt the need to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks.

Summary of the invention

Has the applicant now surprisingly found that? It is possible to overcome these drawbacks with the present invention concerning a solid self-adhesive formulation for the hygiene and fragrance of sanitary articles comprising:

? between 11% and 80% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation of a mixture (a) of at least one alkaline salt of an inorganic and / or organic acid;

? an anionic surfactant (b) comprising:

- between 5 and 45% by weight on the total weight of said self-adhesive formulation of a composition (b1) comprising at least 85% by weight on the total weight of the composition (b1) of a mixture of alkaline salts of mono C12-C18 alkyl esters of sulfuric acid;

- between 1% and 5% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation of a composition (b2) comprising between 8 and 12% by weight on the total weight of the composition (b2) of a mixture of alkaline salts of mono C12-C18 alkyl esters of sulfuric acid dispersed in a mixture of C16-C18 fatty alcohols;

? between 5% and 25% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation of a non-ionic surfactant (c) consisting of an aqueous dispersion comprising a mixture of C10-16 alkyl polyglucosides, in quantities ranging from 40 to 60% by weight by weight of said non-ionic surfactant (c);

? scent,

in which the total water in said solid self-adhesive formulation? less than or equal to 15% by weight of the total weight of said formulation.

In fact, thanks to the much lower water content compared to other compositions known in the state of the art, the self-adhesive formulation object of the invention? pi? stable, with less tendency to give rise to a biphasic mixture and finally shows a decidedly less tendency to drying, if the sanitary item is not used for a certain period of time.

Further object of the present invention? an adhesive product in the form of a strip to be applied on the walls of a sanitary article comprising:

i) a layer of said strip comprising said solid self-adhesive formulation capable of adhering to the walls of the sanitary article and

ii) a non-adhesive water-soluble film, preferably containing polyvinyl alcohol arranged on a surface of layer i), to manually allow the application of said product directly on the walls of the sanitary article.

This type of product therefore no longer requires? for the application the use of plastic containers and dispensers and therefore it is more? eco-sustainable compared to current products available on the market.

Detailed description

For the purposes of the present invention with the term? Comprising? it is not intended to exclude the presence of further components listed after this definition while with the term? consistent? or? constituted? it is intended to exclude additional components not listed after this definition.

For the purposes of the present invention with the term? Self-adhesive? we mean a product which, thanks to its composition, adheres to the walls of sanitary objects by contact or pressure.

For the purposes of the present invention, with the expression? Sanitary article? we mean a device consisting of a vessel generally made of ceramic (there are also versions in steel, glass and resin) intended for the disposal of excreted physiological functions such as urination and defecation. For the purposes of the present invention, preferably but not limitedly, said sanitary article? the toilet (or toilet) or urinals.

In said formulation the total water content? preferably less than 10% and more? preferably comprised between 5% and 8% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation.

In said solid self-adhesive formulation at least one salt of mixture (a)? preferably a mixture of sodium sulfate and sodium citrate.

According to a preferred embodiment, the content of sodium sulfate in the mixture (a)? comprised between 10% and 50%, preferably between 30% and 50%, plus? preferably? 32.6% by weight of the weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation, while sodium citrate? in concentrations between 1% and 30%, preferably? 15% by weight of the total weight of the solid self-adhesive formulation.

According to another preferred embodiment, in said solid self-adhesive formulation the surfactant (b1)? contained in quantities between 15% and 35%, plus? preferably? 25% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation.

The surfactant (b1)? the product with trade name? Empicol LZN MB? surfactant of the anionic type comprising at least 85% by weight of the total weight of the composition (b1) of a mixture of alkali metal salts, preferably sodium, of mono C12-C18 alkyl esters of sulfuric acid.

It should be noted that preferably in said solid self-adhesive formulation the anionic surfactant (b2)? 3.5% by weight of the total weight of the solid self-adhesive formulation. Said anionic surfactant (b2)? known under the trade name of? Empiwax SK / BP MB? and comprises between 8% and 12% by weight on the total weight of the composition (b2) of a mixture of alkali metal salts (preferably sodium) of mono C12-C18 alkyl esters of sulfuric acid dispersed in a mixture of C16-C18 fatty alcohols .

In said formulation? also including the non-ionic surfactant (c) known under the trade name of? Glucopon 600 CS UP MB? preferably in a concentration of 14% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation.

In a preferred embodiment, said solid self-adhesive formulation contains a perfume preferably in a concentration comprised between 0.1% and 5% and more. preferably? 1% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. Said perfume can? be the one known commercially with the name? MINT EUCALIPTO NP 22129P ?.

According to a preferred embodiment, the formulation object of the present invention contains at least one plasticizer selected from the group consisting of: xanthan gum, rosin resin, waxy maize starch and relative mixtures of the above, preferably at concentrations ranging from 0.1% to 10% in weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation.

According to an embodiment pi? preferred, said self-adhesive formulation contains xanthan gum, rosin resin and waxy maize starch.

Pi? preferably, xanthan gum? in concentrations ranging from 0.1% to 5%, preferably 2% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation; rosin resin? in concentrations ranging from 0.1% to 5%, preferably 2% of said solid self-adhesive formulation, and waxy maize starch in concentrations ranging from 1 to 10%, preferably 5% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation.

In said self-adhesive oral formulation, most of the components used have been obtained through semi-synthetic processes starting from products of exclusively natural origin.

For? Semi-synthetic manufacturing processes? we mean chemical processes carried out on products of exclusively natural origin in order to induce a further functionalization of said products which would make the latter more? suitable for the purposes of the present invention.

Based on there? commercial products including this oral self-adhesive formulation therefore enjoy the? Ecocert Natural Detergents? certification. (https://www.ecocert.com/en/certification-detail/ecological-household-productsnatdet).

For example, sodium sulphate is a co-product of the production of viscous fiber starting from lignin while the sodium citrate used? produced by fermentation starting from corn.

Note that for? Viscose fiber? we mean a natural fiber of vegetable origin and in particular obtained with the so-called? viscose process? from the lignin of the wood once it has been separated from the cellulose component.

Furthermore, both the anionic and non-ionic surfactants present in said solid self-adhesive formulation derive from chemical transesterification processes starting from further modified palm oil.

In said solid self-adhesive formulation, even the perfume? composed mainly of naturally derived essential oils.

It should be noted that in said solid self-adhesive formulation also the plasticizers are obtained starting from compounds of natural origin. For example, xanthan gum? produced by fermentation starting from a sugar generally chosen from glucose, sucrose or lactose. The rosin ester used? produced through the esterification of rosin, which constitutes a solid residue of the distillation of the resin of various conifers. Finally, the waxy corn starch? produced from corn itself.

Said solid self-adhesive formulation? also used in finished commercial products.

Further object of the present invention? an adhesive product in the form of a strip to be applied on the walls of a sanitary article comprising:

i) a layer of said strip comprising the solid self-adhesive formulation capable of adhering to the walls of the sanitary article;

ii) a non-adhesive water-soluble film, preferably containing polyvinyl alcohol, arranged on a surface of layer i), to allow the manual application of said product directly on the walls of the sanitary article.

Preferably, on the surface opposite to that where layer ii) is applied, a removable protective sheet is applied before the application of said product on the walls of the sanitary article.

The non-adhesive water-soluble film ii), preferably containing polyvinyl alcohol (or PVA), prevents direct contact of said self-adhesive formulation object of the invention with the hands of the user. According to a particularly preferred solution, said non-adhesive water-soluble film layer? equipped with a ledge or? fin? to facilitate the manual application of said further product object of the present invention.

For essentially illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following examples are reported.

2. Example of stability and performance of the finished commercial product

2.1 Example of stability of the product

Have stability tests been carried out? of the finished commercial product in order to verify that its chemical-physical conditions do not change with the passage of time. The internal procedure used to perform a stability test? provides for the following conditions:

? room temperature, natural light, 3 years

? 40? C, 3 months (accelerated condition corresponding to 3 years at room temperature)

? 4? C, 3 months (accelerated condition corresponding to 3 years at room temperature)

The stability under the conditions indicated above (in progress for room temperature and finished for 40? C and 4? (C) it did not show any anomalies on the product, thus demonstrating the good seal of the formula devised.

2.2 Performance example

The performance of the finished commercial product? was conducted for the purpose of verifying the ability? foaming of the product, the duration in terms of showers and the consumption of said product over time. The internal procedure used to perform a performance test includes the following conditions:

? French model toilet (or WC) (Villeroy & Boch, Voltablanc)

? Program set at 17 showers per day

? 9 liters (L) of water for each shower

? Water hardness equal to 35? THF

The performance of this finished commercial product under the conditions mentioned above has shown a duration equal to an average of 140 showers. The capacity foaming? in line with a classic product for toilets (or toilets): the foam reaches its peak in the central phase of the product's life, decreasing as the end of life is reached.

Claims (14)

Claims 1. Solid self-adhesive formulation for hygiene and fragrance of sanitary articles comprising: ? between 11% and 80% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation of a mixture (a) of at least one alkaline salt of an inorganic and / or organic acid; ? an anionic surfactant (b) comprising: - between 5 and 45% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation of a composition (b1) comprising at least 85% by weight of the total weight of the composition (b1) of a mixture of alkaline salts of mono C12-C18 alkyl esters of sulfuric acid; - between 1% and 5% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation of a composition (b2) comprising between 8 and 12% by weight on the total weight of the composition (b2) of a mixture of alkaline salts of mono C12-C18 alkyl esters of sulfuric acid dispersed in a mixture of C16-C18 fatty alcohols; ? between 5% and 25% by weight on the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation of a non-ionic surfactant (c) consisting of an aqueous dispersion comprising a mixture of C10-16 alkyl polyglucosides, in quantities ranging from 40 to 60% by weight by weight of said non-ionic surfactant (c); ? scent, in which the total water in said solid self-adhesive formulation? less than or equal to 15% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. 2. Solid self-adhesive formulation according to claim 1 wherein the total water? less than 10%, preferably? comprised between 5 and 8% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. Solid self-adhesive formulation according to claim 1 or 2 wherein said salts in mixture (a) are a mixture of sodium sulfate and sodium citrate. 4. Solid self-adhesive formulation according to claim 3 wherein the sodium sulphate contained in (a) constitutes between 10 and 50%, preferably between 30 and 50%, plus? preferably? 32.6% by weight by weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation, sodium citrate? present in concentrations between 1 and 30%, preferably? 15% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. The solid self-adhesive formulation according to any one of claims 1 to 4 wherein the surfactant (b1)? contained in the solid self-adhesive formulation in quantities between 15 and 35%, preferably? 25% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. The solid self-adhesive formulation according to any one of claims 1 to 5 wherein the concentration of the anionic surfactant (b2)? 3.5% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. Solid self-adhesive formulation according to any one of claims 1 to 6 wherein the concentration of the non-ionic surfactant (c)? 14% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. Solid self-adhesive formulation according to any one of claims 1 to 7 wherein the concentration of the perfume? between 0.1 and 5%, preferably? 1% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. 9. Solid self-adhesive formulation according to any one of claims 1 to 8 containing at least one plasticizer selected from the group consisting of: xanthan gum, rosin resin, waxy maize starch and related mixtures, preferably at concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 10% by weight on the total weight of the solid self-adhesive formulation. 10. The solid self-adhesive formulation of claim 9 containing xanthan gum, rosin resin and waxy maize starch. 11. Solid self-adhesive formulation according to claim 10 containing xanthan gum in concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 5%, preferably? 2% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation; rosin resin between 0.1 and 5% preferably 2%, and waxy maize starch in concentrations between 1 and 10% preferably? 5% by weight of the total weight of said solid self-adhesive formulation. 12. Adhesive product in the form of a strip to be applied on the walls of a sanitary article comprising: i) a layer of said strip comprising the solid self-adhesive formulation according to any one of claims 1 to 11 capable of adhering to the walls of the sanitary article; ii) a non-adhesive water-soluble film, preferably containing polyvinyl alcohol, arranged on a surface of layer i), to allow the manual application of said product directly on the walls of the sanitary article. 13. Adhesive product according to claim 12 wherein a removable protective sheet is applied over the surface opposite to that where layer ii) is applied before applying said product on the walls of the sanitary article. 14. An adhesive product according to any one of claims 12 or 13 wherein said non-adhesive film layer ii)? provided with a ledge or? fin? to facilitate its application.
