La presente invenzione riguarda il settore della lavorazione della carta, ed in particolare concerne un procedimento per ottenere della carta impermeabile alla cera, utilizzabile nella produzione di ceri votivi. Più specificamente, l'invenzione è relativa ad un procedimento di lavorazione della carta, preferibilmente, ma non esclusivamente, per la realizzazione di ceri votivi, che permette di ottenere un rivestimento di carta che, pur essendo impermeabile alla cera liquida, risulta essere totalmente riciclabile. Sono note dalla tecnica alcune soluzioni, tuttora in uso, per la produzione di ceri votivi. Ad esempio è ben noto l'utilizzo di involucri in plastica per contenere la cera liquida quando il cero è acceso. Questa soluzione presenta lo svantaggio di avere un costo elevato, dovuto alla plastica utilizzata, che aumenta notevolmente qualora si volessero produrre ceri ad alto impatto visivo, vista la necessità di operare su un supporto plastico per stampare a applicare delle rappresentazioni grafiche. L'invenzione consiste sostanzialmente in un procedimento di trattamento della carta volto a renderla impermeabile alla cera liquida, in cui i supporti cartacei vengono stampati in quadricromia ed in modalità offset. Secondo una caratteristica peculiare del trovato, una volta stampata la carta, prima del taglio, su di essa viene applicato su ambo i lati, quindi sia fronte che retro, uno speciale finisher trasparente ad acqua con un filtro protettivo agli uv che rende vantaggiosamente la carta impermeabile alla cera liquida ed autoestinguente in caso di combustione.
