DESCRIZIONE DEL BREVETTO PER INVENZIONE AVENTE TITOL Supporto per pennini da intinzione DESCRIPTION OF THE PATENT FOR INVENTION AVENT TITOL Holder for dip nibs
TESTO DELLA DESCRIZIONE TEXT OF THE DESCRIPTION
Campo di applicazione dell’invenzione Field of application of the invention
The invention relates to a support for dip nibs, suitable for allowing easy and comfortable adjustment of the nib, simplifying its use.
Stato dell’arte State of the art
The ink pen is substantially constituted by a suitably shaped generally metallic foil, used to transfer ink onto a writing surface. Although the dip nibs differ from each other in materials, use, shape and size, it is possible to schematize their general anatomy, essentially formed by three main segments:
• Punta (zona superiore): è la parte del pennino che raccoglie l'inchiostro nel calamaio, e lo rilascia sulla superficie di scrittura; ● Gola (zona centrale): la particolare conformazione di questa zona conferisce al pennino la sua resistenza meccanica; • Tip (upper area): it is the part of the nib that collects the ink in the inkwell, and releases it on the writing surface; ● Throat (central area): the particular shape of this area gives the nib its mechanical resistance;
• Graft (lower area): it is the part of the nib that fits into the straw (the support used to hold a nib both during writing and clearly dipping it into the inkwell, from whose evolution the body of the fountain pen was born, in which the purpose became also that of carrying a reserve of ink), and makes it integral to it.
The dip nibs were used in the past (and are sometimes still used) for technical drawing on tracing paper; in recent years, with the advent of technological aids (software and applications) for the realization of technical drawings on the computer, their use has gradually diminished, however over time they have assumed a very significant historical iconographic significance, placing themselves in a niche market that appreciates (in fact) its historical value but also its functionality, which enhances the manual talent of writing / drawing. A particular application of the ink nib is linked, for example, to the writing of invitations for weddings and similar ceremonies, and to the restoration of ancient parchments (which require manual intervention); In this regard, the charm linked to this instrument is undeniable, which is often given as a gift (combined with the inkwell) as a design object to be preserved. From a technical point of view, the main problem related to the dip nib is represented by the support, or straw, necessary to use it. Originally the nib was inserted by pressure into the straw, equipped with a suitable hole; this inevitably caused the nib to break after prolonged use, due to the pressure forces exerted to insert it into the straw; furthermore, such a solution often caused damage to the nib attachment, due to the hardening of the ink; finally, such a solution did not adapt to the different sizes (diameters) of the nib grafts, requiring the use of several straws. In order to facilitate the writing operation, the support has been equipped with an inclined element, integral with the straw, able to house the nib and, at the same time, to facilitate its use, as described for example in the patent for invention of the Gran Britain GB157108, filed on 14/10/1919
(Title: “Pen holder”); this document describes a pen holder configured in such a way that a! nib can be given a variable inclination, said pen holder comprising a proper support to which the arm of an elastic collar is fixed. A sleeve, shaped with a curved slot for receiving the nib, the apex of the curve being located in the axis of the sleeve, is held in the collar band and is equipped with a milled flange to facilitate adjustment in the rotational and longitudinal direction. Although facilitating writing and allowing the adjustment of the inclination of the nib, this solution does not solve the problem related to the different dimensions of the grafts and also does not allow to lower or raise the tip of the nib, which is very useful in case you require particular performances in the writing stroke.
In the patent for invention of Great Britain GB486077, filed on 09/12/1937 (Title; "Improvements in pen holder"), on the other hand, a pen holder is described comprising a screw having a non-rotating section but slidingly engaged by a rotating bushing on the end of the support, and an eccentric portion which, when the screw is screwed inwards, engages with the end (end) of the bush and forces the opposite side to make contact with the nib. This solution allows you to adapt the support to any type of nib, regardless of the diameter of the graft, however the inclined element is missing, which allows for easier writing, and only allows fine adjustments to the position of the nib.
Sommario del'invenzione Summary of the invention
The device object of the present invention patent allows to overcome the problems relating to the state of the art, realizing a support for dip nibs substantially constituted by a straw having an oblique upper end on which, through the two openings of a ferrule, a brass cap and a structure containing an eccentric pin into which the nib is inserted. The ring nut is free to rotate around the axis of the straw, while the eccentric pin allows the fixing, at the desired length, of nibs with variable coupling dimensions, ensuring their locking in any desired position. The support thus created is endowed with considerable versatility and, thanks to its simplified structure, allows the easy removal of the various components, barrel excluded, for maintenance and / or replacement operations. The ability to rotate the ring around the axis of the straw also allows it to be used by both right and left-handed people Description of the drawings

Descrizione dettagliata dell’invenzione Detailed description of the invention
With reference to the aforementioned Figures, the support device is essentially constituted by a straw (10) provided with a central hole (10a) whose upper end ends with a surface (10b) (see details in Fig. 3) inclined by a determined angle to the horizontal. A first opening (4a) of the flange (4) and then a brass cap (7) is aligned with said straw (10), having a lower surface inclined specular to the surface (10b) of the straw (10) and also equipped of a through hole (7a). The cap (7) and the flange (4) are fixed to the straw (10) by means of a screw (8), inserted in the threaded hole (7a) and then through the first opening (4a) of the flange (4) and the hole ( 10a) of the same straw (10). The nib (P) (see Fig. 1) is housed in a mechanism, which will be described shortly, contained within a cover cap (9) fixed to the straw (10). The barrel (1) screwed with the ring nut (5) containing the eccentric pin (3), which is fixed by means of the bush (2), is inserted into a second opening (4b) of the flange (4) (see Fig. 3). ) with the screw (6). The barrel (1) performs the fundamental function of holding the bush (2) stably together with the eccentric pin (3); the rotation of the bush (2) allows the fixing of the nib (P), once it has been inserted into the barrel (1) containing the eccentric pin (3), adjusting it to the desired height (more or less recessed). The flange (4), as shown in the sequence shown in Fig. 4, can be freely rotated around the axis (a) of the straw (10), allowing the positioning of the nib tip (P) substantially in any direction.
