Abstract

The pedal assembly is positioned outside of the rear wheel, in the area lying between points A and B as indicated in the drawing. The triangle of forces (formed by joining together the pedal crank end point and the saddle base point) is no different to the parameters that occur at present in conventional bikes. The saddle has a rear stop to prevent downward sliding of the glutei and keep the thighs in the correct position with respect to the triangle of forces to enable correct rotation of the legs. The rider assumes a prone position (face down), resting the buttocks against the saddle and the chest on a corset anatomically constructed to suit the parameters of the chest. The arms are extended forwards and rest on the handlebar with support at the elbows. The dimensions of the vehicle - that is the diameter of the wheels and the length of the frame - vary to suit the height of the rider. <IMAGE>
