Abstract

Digital signals, for example audio and video, are converted into OFDM signals each composed of elementary components x(n,k) that are converted into complex values by mapping onto a constellation and modulated onto respective carriers and transmitted on a channel. At the output of the channel, the received signals y(n,k) are equalised by dividing them for respective complex values <IMAGE> forming estimates of the transfer function of the channel in relation to the respective carriers. According to the invention, the <IMAGE> for the current symbol are obtained by dividing the elementary components by a symbol received before the current one (y(n-1,k))for the respective elementary components of the previously received signal, remodulated based on its reconstruction after equalisation of <IMAGE>). <IMAGE>
