Abstract
By applying two separate electrodes, on the entire circumference of the steering wheel, one achieves a sensor of electrical resistance of the skin of the hands, which is able to detect whether the steering wheel is being held properly. If the pressure of the hands on the steering wheel slackens, one or more sound, light, speaking or other type of device is activated to warn the driver and possibly wake them up. This steering wheel can also be used to prevent theft by applying, with appropriate precautions, electric charges at high voltage which force the thief to desist from the theft.
