Abstract

A method of recharging a lead storage battery, comprises the phases of sending to the battery a charging current I, calculating a first parameter VOI=f(V), calculating a second parameter VOIlim=f(I), comparing the value VOI with the value VOIlim and reducing the value of charging current to a value less than I=Ii when VOI reaches a predetermined ratio with VOIlim. These phases are repeated until the value of charging current I falls below a value that is predetermined to be the end charge. This method has been used to create a recharging device 10, comprising means 15, 16 of sending to the battery 11 a charging current I, first means 12 of calculating VOI and second means 13 of calculating VOIlim. Means of comparison 14 compare VOI and VOIlim and arrange for the reducing of the value of charging current to a value less than I=Ii when VOI reaches a predetermined ratio with VOIlim. Means of interrupting 15 the loading process interrupt the loading when a defined end charge condition is reached. <IMAGE>
