Abstract

The present invention relates to a mechanical energy dissipation device for structural anchoring in areas subject to earthquake. It essentially consists of the opposing and balanced combination of elementary dissipation devices. Each of these consists of a bar cold-bent to a C-shape with a specific radius of curvature, in such a way that it has two rectilinear parallel arms. The two ends of the arms are suitably anchored to the structural elements to be connected. The invention is primarily characterized by the original arrangement of the elementary dissipation elements, which permits the automatic driving of the shape element consisting of the solid cylinder.
