Abstract
La potenza prodotta da un sistema di turbina a gas viene aumentata da un dispositivo di precompressore che comprime l'aria ambiente alimentata al compressore principale del sistema introducendo così aumenti di temperatura e di pressione nell'aria alimentata. L'aria alimentata al compressore principale viene raffreddata utilizzando un sistema di refrigerazione meccanico per diminuire la temperatura dell'aria alimentata all'ingresso al compressore principale una turbina a gas. L'aria compressa dal compressore principale viene alimentata ad un combustore per riscaldare l'aria compressa e produrre gas caldi che sono alimentati ad una turbina che alimenta un carico e guida il compressore principale. I gas di scarico caldi vengono alimentati ad una caldaia che produce vapore che viene applicato ad una turbina a gas che alimenta un carico. L'uso di un raffreddatore invece di un raffreddamento evaporativo dell'aria compressa è vantaggioso poiché rende l'apparecchio insensibile alle condizioni di umidità dell'aria ambiente.
