Abstract

Questo strumento è usato in campo odontoiatrico ed odontotecnico. E' composto da due parti principali: una fissa ed una mobile. La parte fissa superiore simula la mascella mentre la parte centrale mobile simula la mandibola. La parte centrale è unita a quella superiore per mezzo di molle di acciaio tarate e regolabili. Le due parti sono imperniate nella parte posteriore in modo che possano simulare il movimento dell'articolazione temporo-mandibolare. Negli articolatori attuali la parte mobile è quella superiore e la parte fissa è quella inferiore. Nella realtà, nel corpo umano, è tutto il contrario in quanto la parte fissa è quella superiore e quella mobile l'inferiore. Con il simulatore meccanico che propongo il movimento viene dato dalla parte centrale, grazie anche alle molle in acciaio tarate e regolabili che simulano i muscoli, come è nella natura, in rapporto ad una parte superiore fissa.
