Abstract

The improved clamp of a weft-nipper has a lever which extends for a certain length in the longitudinal direction of the clip itself, in proximity to its tip, pivoted on it in an intermediate point which defines the pinching zone between said point and the end of the lever turned towards the front zone of the clip, where said lever is pushed against a pinching blade by the force exerted by at least two compression clips housed parallel to one another, in seats side by side in a plate fixed to the nipper in direct correspondence with said pinching zone. Preferably, the pivot point is created by a pin surrounded by a ring of plastic or elastomer material and, again preferably, there can be an elastic shim such as rubber or the like below said pinching plate. The lever/plate assembly is held together and pushed against the nipper body by the compression clips, without screws or other fixing elements, being housed in an appropriately shaped seat with side walls. <IMAGE>
