Abstract

Process for the production of paper from lignocellulose materials comprising maize stalks, wastes originating from the harvesting of grain and the like, comprising of treating the said materials with saprophytic lignocolous mycelia such as mycelia of the species Plurotus, Volvariella, Lentinus, Sporotrichum and the like and/or exocellular enzymes obtained from the said mycelia at a temperature lying within the range from 5 to 80 degree C and for a time of between 4 and 40 hours, bringing about degradation of the lignin, and then subjecting the said material so treated to washing and finally preparing cellulose paste and paper in accordance with conventional methods.
