Abstract
The industrial invention with the title: "Production of electrical power by reversible ternary cycle and associated devices" belongs to the technical sector of the production of electrical power. In the prior art, in thermo-electric and nuclear-electric plant there were large heat losses from the exhausts of the steam turbines. In the case of gas turbine power stations, there is the problem of the energy absorbed by the compressor which greatly reduces the mechanical work done by the turbine combined with waste heat losses. Consequently, the problem of the limitation of efficiency between heat consumed and effective work done in industrial production is unresolved and unsatisfied. The new process, schematically represented in the following figure 1, recovers the heat exhausted by the two-stage turbine TG1, TG2, supplied with "filtered" air, with inter-cooled compression 1, C1, C2 and with inter-heated expansion 2*, 1', 2, 6, 4', 6, 3', 6, 3',4*. In addition, the excess heat of the turbine-air cycle 4*, 5*, 8, together with that recoverable from the exhaust 10, 19 and from the associated CO2 liquefaction plant 11, 12, 13, is sent to the boiler 20 serving a 3rd thermodynamic cycle with organic fluid where it produces electrical power in cascade 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, except for the residual heat that can be used for external environmental heating requirements and/or hot water 32, 33, 34. The boiler 6 recovers the superheated heat from the exhaust 8, 9 intended for the transformation of carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide using any type of fuel in the solid, liquid or gaseous state. Finally, the ternary cycle with exchangeable energy, while the quantity of fuel used per unit of time remains the same, permits the exchange and conversion of energy from one form to another achieving the maximum thermodynamic efficiency to be defined as "reversible". The new process is primarily useful for the production of electrical power, of relevant interest for energy, industry and the environment. Claims no. 4, Figure no. 7. <IMAGE>
