Abstract
Fluid mass flow measuring system based on the incremental measurement of the energy imparted to a fluid from a heat exchanger supplied by a heater maintained at a temperature different from that of the fluid itself and controlled by a variable sensitivity thermometer. The amount of energy to be exchanged is determined by an electronic circuit that detects the temperature difference between the above heat exchanger and that of a second identical heat exchanger immersed in the same fluid that is not supplied with energy. The value of the temperature measured by the inert heat exchanger is used to alter the sensitivity of the thermometer associated with the excited transducer so that the variations in the energy exchanged correspond with the changes in density of the fluid itself with temperature. <IMAGE>
