Abstract

Programmable remote control unit, with a learning mode for receiving and storing remote control signals arriving from other remote control units, and with a transmission mode for transmitting remote control signals which have been learnt in this way. The remote control unit comprises a light-emitting diode (LED) 6 with three colours indicating (a) whether the remote control unit is operating in the learning mode, (b) whether the received remote control signal has been successfully stored, and (c) whether an anomaly has occurred in the storing of the signal as a result of errors in reception. The colours used for (b) and (c) are green and red, respectively, in such a way that no descriptive texts are required with the LED. Figure 2. <IMAGE>
