Abstract

This invention relates to a supplementary device for ordinary commercial needles for transcutaneous biopsy of rigid tissues, in particular osteomedullary tissue, the use of which eliminates the usual disadvantages associated with the use of ordinary needles. In particular this device guarantees effective performance of the biopsy on any type of tissue, from the strongest compact bone to the most rarefied and friable osteomedullary tissue without the risk of premature removal of the tissue sample from the needle, it guarantees less traumatisation of the tissue at the point from which the biopsy is taken, with appreciably less suffering for the patient, and it ensures less mechanical stress on the needle, preserving it from the risk of bending and ensuring an appreciably longer service life.
