Abstract
The method for producing a metal plate laminated with a polyester film, for the production of cans having a good resistance to the milky modification following a treatment in the oven after the introduction of foods and beverages, consists in controlling, in an optimal field, the relative ratio of density and the residual degree of biaxial orientation of a laminated film of polyester resin of biaxial orientation, containing approximately 10 percent to 60 percent by weight of polybutylene terephthalate and approximately 90 percent to 40 percent of polybutylene terephthalate, and having in the laminate prior to the oven treatment a vitreous transition temperature of approximately 40 degrees C to approximately 70 degrees C, after the lamination on one or both surfaces of a metal plate coated with a single layer of chromium hydroxide or with a double layer consisting of a lower layer of metallic chromium and an upper layer of chromium hydroxide.
