Abstract

A method for the travelling treatment of fumes given off by a mobile furnace heating bituminous products for asphalt laying comprises an initial stage in which the said fumes are washed and saturated adiabatically with water and a second stage in which the said fumes are filtered. Advantageously the filtration stage is proceeded by a stage of recovery from the fumes of the water which can then be recirculated. The extracted products are therefore partly mixed with the material in the furnace and partly burned. A vehicle 10 that applies this method comprises in series a unit 18 for the washing and adiabatic saturation of the fumes by cooling them with nebulized water, and a filtration unit 20 with emission from a truck 22. The filtration unit 20 is advantageously preceded by a unit 19 in which the water carried off by the fumes is recovered, this water being returned to the flow of water of the washing unit 18. Conveying means 25, 26, 28, 29 send the extracted products to the furnace 14. <IMAGE>
