Abstract
Rod-like mechanical joint with a number of uses, of simple and economical design consisting of successive articulation elements held together by cables or the like which essentially maintain their length and therefore the clamping force of the components in each bent position, which can have a very large total angle. A central line can be present in this joint suitable for passage of electrical conductors or with suitable fittings to convey fluids by means of which it can be used to support any part, as well as a flexible tube for fluids also at elevated pressure and bending can be manual or remote controlled. Another use is that of an articulated mechanical joint for coupling of two rotating shafts that also have large angular or radial or angular-radial displacements between them. <IMAGE>
