Abstract
The device comprises: a first member having a rotating arm which is lockable in two positions, suitable for being connected directly or indirectly to the first bone stump, and a second member like the preceding one suitable for being connected similarly to the second bone stump. The first member is connected to the second member by means of a series of four or five ties, individually lockable and defining two perpendicular and independent reduction planes, on which the arms of the two end members act, in addition to a cylindrical coupling which allows them to be brought nearer or moved further away. Said ties may be an integral part of the device, which forms part of the fixator to be applied. The device is complemented by a motorized element which allows the stretching of the telescopic element, overcoming the greatest muscle strength, and possibly by a last member which allows only rotation around an axis parallel to the fixator. The purpose of the device is to allow the physician to perform the reduction of a fracture standing at some distance from the operative field, reducing both the effort, thanks to the telescopic element, and the time, thanks to the independence of the reduction planes. <IMAGE>
